Dear Orbinauts !

For those who would like to try AMSO 1.18 with the last Orbiter 2009 public beta version you can found here:

http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/orbitervis/index.php?title=OrbiterPublicBeta

You can download on my site here:

http://www.acsoft.ch/AMSO/amso.html

A compatibility patch.

This patch consist of the adaptation of new Orbiter config files to AMSO and a new set of AMSO modules, compiled with last Orbiter beta SDK.

If you discover malfunction(s) which seem to be specific to the couple AMSO 1.18 patched / Orbiter 091017 beta, please report in this thread.

Thanks in forward and have fun !!!

Hi Capt Speirs,

Just with Orbiter log's, without to know the context and what you have done, it is very difficult to guess what went wrong. But anyway, try to apply the following procedure from scratch:

Create a new empty "Orbiter" directory somewhere on your disk. Now, install there the Orbiter beta 090331 and check that all is OK, by running this version of Orbiter.

Then, continue by over-installing in this directory, the Orbiter beta's 091015, then 091017 and finally the 091020 just published in the meantime. Again re-run this Orbiter and check all is OK.

Now, install in this directory, AMSO 1.18 and over it, AMSO-118_091017_patch.zip (answer yes to overwrite files questions).

Now you should have a 100% operational AMSO.

ACS

PS
You install ALL these archive files (Orbiter and AMSO) in this directory, in the same way: This is by using the folders structure memorized within the archive, so that directories structure is created and that all files goes where they should go. Depending on the tool you are using to unzip, you may need to activate an option like for example in WinZip: "Use folder names" to obtain this result. Default Windows XP unzip tool do it this way by default.

Looks more like he installed the patch, but not AMSO.

Hi ACS,

Just tried a few random scenarios from the patched version with 091020 all seems fine! Many thanks!!

Regards

As you can see below, AMSO 1.18 appears to be an update, it required me to install 1.17 first.

Looks more like he installed the patch, but not AMSO.

Partially correct, I did not install all of AMSO, I assumed AMSO 1.18 was a complete installation not just an update, my bad. So then I installed AMSO 1.17, then AMSO 1.18, and finally AMSO 1.18 091017 patch, now all is golden. I have had AMSO too long, forgot the installation order and yes, I did not read the Doc, my bad again.

Just curious, will Orbiter 2009 be getting sound soon, miss the roar of the rockets?

Hi Capt Speirs,

The AMSO 1.18 published on my site (file: AMSO-118.ZIP) is NOT an update to AMSO 1.17. IT IS a full version. In the doubt, I have just done now the process I gave to you and ran a scenario in AMSO without any problem.

Speaking of the sound, actual Orbiter 2009 beta version is again compatible with OrbiterSound, so you can install it without any problem and, of course, you can also install my AMSO Apollo 11 Sound Expansion Pack 1.00.

By the way, a version 1.1 of this Sound Expansion Pack is in preparation, with much more time accurate ATC and many more ATC messages. This rework was motivated by the apparition of Jarmo LTMFD navigation tool, which allow to follow historical timings of an Apollo mission, much more easily as before with IMFD.
