OK here is a pic of the APU switches at T30 from historical mission STS98 for example,are those switches set correctly,and should I automatically launch?
Are the APUs running, that is the question - if you have not "three gray" talkbacks for ready to start, you can't start the APUs, regardless how you place the switches.
And when the APUs are running, are the APUs running 5 minutes before launch?
ALSO: SSU is not SSM or other switch simulations. It doesn't matter that you place the switches correctly to proceed, it matters that the subsystems that you control by the switches are in the correct state. You have to take a look at the displays for that. I have not seen the CRT show the APU/HYD display on the pilot side, and without it, I can't tell if you have enough hydraulic pressure to launch.
