OK here is a pic of the APU switches at T30 from historical mission STS98 for example,are those switches set correctly,and should I automatically launch?

Are the APUs running, that is the question - if you have not "three gray" talkbacks for ready to start, you can't start the APUs, regardless how you place the switches.

And when the APUs are running, are the APUs running 5 minutes before launch?

ALSO: SSU is not SSM or other switch simulations. It doesn't matter that you place the switches correctly to proceed, it matters that the subsystems that you control by the switches are in the correct state. You have to take a look at the displays for that. I have not seen the CRT show the APU/HYD display on the pilot side, and without it, I can't tell if you have enough hydraulic pressure to launch.

OK,I reinstalled again,for some reason,I couldn't get the CRT screen to show up,but now it works fine in the new install,BTW is there a way to turn,on,off the venting coming from the shuttles main engines?,and also how do you have the GOX hood start venting out the gasses?Thanks

OK,I figured out the venting procedure,but found a bug on the launch STS26 test scenario the RMS,and,OBSS are both sticking outside the paylaod bay.

Where did you get these scenarios from? The SSU package only includes launch scenarios for STS-1, STS-107, STS-120 and STS-126. There aren't any scenarios for STS-26 or STS-98.

I suspect you're using scenarios created for an older version of SSU, which need to be updated to work with SSU V2.0

Interceptor, and all of you making first steps with SSU:

You should use original NASA checklists to make shuttle fly properly.
Here is the link: http://www.nasa.gov/centers/johnson/news/flightdatafiles/foia_archive.html

For example open STS-134 ascent checklist and go to page 1-11. If some switches are not operational, just leave it and continue to next step. If you follow this, there's no way to fail the launch

Looks great ,.. but will be very time consuming i'm afraid :)

I've got a strange grafical appearance when de Heat shield of the shuttle is starting to glow up.
It seems like white stripes emitting from the shield backwards along the shuttle (cone shaped).
It looks like an drawn modeling of the airflow or ionisation along the shuttle hull during re-entry and looks static.
it disappears when the heat shield stops glowing.

Those streams are supposed to represent the ionization of the airstream past the actual vehicle. And it is known that they're wrong and are supposed to be solid.

HI,I noticed that the STS120 mission starts without the GOX,or beanie cap venting the gasses from the ET,is there a line in the scenario file you can add to enable this,or is it controlled by a switch?

Great project developers!

There is a problem during TAEM, where the shuttle opens the speedbrake and then the space shuttle stalls and goes out of control.
Other than that, great improvements, loved it!

Other than that, great improvements, loved it!

Can you give us some more information there, this is a bit unspecific. Especially some clues about altitude, velocity/Mach and when and how far the speed brake was operated would be nice. Did you use keyboard or joystick?

Usually, the speed brake of the Shuttle is opened a small bit during late reentry (Mach <10) for stabilization and trim.

Also, what kind of stall behavior? The Shuttle is a delta wing, it should not stall, but simply smoothly loose first lift then aerodynamic control and finally drop like a stone. Anything else would be a clue for debugging, though debugging aerodynamics is a tough job.

Thats already after the TAEM phase, by the altitude and velocity, it could be even be pretty low and fast.

Speedbrake should be 81% by the time you are flying with less than 10 kft/s (about 2770 m/s or Mach 10)

NOTE: I used the STS-107 entry interface scenario.

No surprise it crashes... :hmm: ...No, no such easter egg.

BTW, How could I enable the reentry DAP which holds the AOA at 40 deg.?

Here is STS-101 after the OMS 2 burn. I used the old r1442 "Flight Checklists.doc" and the official post insertion checklists but can't get out of OPS 105.

Can you recite the steps you went through to mode the GPC from GNC OPS 105 to GNC OPS 201?

OPS 304 PRO
(This is not "Open Shuttle Fleet", please be aware that things might be a bit different)

I typed in OPS 304 PRO on the GPC, but still nothing happened. The shuttle is at -60 deg. AoA at EI. If I did anything incorrectly, please tell me.

BTW, is there supposed to be a display of entry trajectory, because sometimes my CRT just goes blank when I enter OPS 304 PRO

We don't have the displays, but a quick and really dirty reentry autopilot - it's an alpha version, there is a lot of work to be done.
