Launch News SpaceX Falcon Heavy Demo Mission (1330-1630 EST 6th Feb. 2018)

Three rockets together returning to Earth, a sports car plowing through space, with a driver similar to a robot.
What crappy movie of science fiction is?

I'm Amazed

Wanted to share this surreal viewpoint of the two boosters landing with the dual sonic booms. What an amazing day peeps.

It looks to be reorienting for a posigrade burn and it seems to be getting to +/- the correct place for a burn to Mars...

A bit early for this. They should at least do one orbit...

Yeah, nothing is happening and IMO if it was to go now it would be burning. Another trip around the world for the car.

Totally epic! :)

Is there a live feed somewhere? EDIT: OK, found it!

Of course I had to be at work and miss this live :beathead:

But watching the replay...I'd have to say that this may go down as one of the coolest moments in space history so far. The double rocket landing was epic, and the live stream of the car in space, well, now they're just showing off!

I do believe that even if Musk used lots of Armor All, that dashboard is bound to suffer severe sun damage...

I was wondering how the tires will look in 5 years

Anybody know what happened to the core stage?

RUD.
Landed at 500km/h around 100m from the drone ship. Apparently either did not have enough fuel, or they could not light more than one engine (needed 3 for this landing). But ... they got a ton of data, so it's all good for a test flight!

Adjectives fail me...

This is so incredible. Here are some screenshots from the stream:

Greatest car ad ever.

When is the next (and final?) burn scheduled? Anyone have a live feed link?

There was a live stream here:

It ended a few minutes ago after airing for 2 hours (the stream is limited to the last two hours, it aired for more like 4 hours). I think there will be 6 hours between entering the parking orbit and the Mars burn.
