Orbiter Ultimate Experience 1.0 release

Wow, runs great. But one Issue.
Mountains off the coast of Florida? Wasn't there an Earlier version that made all water masses flat?

How can I make surface tiles with world studio? I made surface tiles, they were in the textures2 folder, I copied the code into the file of my base, but I can't see them in Orbiter.

Are you sure you downloaded the Earth heightmap? Without it, the terrain is a random fractal.

How can I make surface tiles with world studio? I made surface tiles, they were in the textures2 folder, I copied the code into the file of my base, but I can't see them in Orbiter.
If the tile files are in the textures2 folder, then the problem is in the base cfg file.
What base did you added it to?
Have you put the cfg file into the planet\base directory?
Are you sure you added the code properly (check Canaveral.cfg for an example)?

Here is the base file:

If it is exactly as it is pasted here, then the problem is most likely the fact that the last LPAD2 is not closed.

Put END after "TEX Lpad02":
Code:

 POS 7.6 0 -1695.2
 ROT 180

Having some problems exporting SURFTILES here. Installation path is C:\Orbiter and DXTEX.exe is in the Utils subfolder. I have saved the selection and yet the Make SURFTILES button in the Export screen is greyed out and not available.

So what can be the problem or what step have I missed?

You don't need to save the selection. Open the download window, and select "SurfTiles". Now the Make SURFTILES button in the export window should be avaliable.

Thanks, that worked. Do you know how to make it output tiles larger than 256x256?

Well, because my Computer is a 2 TB'er.. I can get like 50 Orbiters.

...
That's too bad. Maybe Artlav could "up" the limit a bit to maybe 1024x1024?

Hm? What do you mean by 256x256 limit?
The only limit is the used dataset resolution.

The http://orbides.1gb.ru/orbf/ws-080705.zip contains a more recent version of World Studio than the 1.0 Orulex (install over 1.0), fixing bugs like small map and dxtex dependency.
