Iron Hill Project Thread

Alright. Now to dust off my limited knowledge of TransX and IMFD. Anyone willing to provide checklists of how to do what will receive a handsome reward.

The MESSENGER spacecraft has now been added to the Iron Hill Project, with the correct orbital elements. We'll be paying her a visit on MD-8:)

The craft will appear in the next weekly update.

All team members will need to download the MESSENGER Pack from O-H;)

Don't forget: EVA tonight at 23:00 UTC. I'll be going out to check the condition of the cargo. Need as many A-Crew members in chat as we can get;)

Spacewalk moved back to 01:00 UTC,

EVA successful. Cargo appears intact:thumbup:

I have MESSENGER MOI. But I haven't "SASupgrade", searched all the internet but didn't found. What is this ?
Code:
Orbiter.log:
---------------------------------------------------------------
>>> ERROR: SASupgrade
>>> [Vessel::OpenConfigFile | .\Vessel.cpp | 252]
---------------------------------------------------------------

Found something interesting this morning when I pulled up the scenario. The Discovery, nee Columbus, was sitting on the ground in northern Africa:huh:

Well, the problem was fixed through a roundabout method. Any ideas as to what might have caused it?

So that's what that button does...

Now all we need to do is hack into NASAs receiving network and add a video feed of a UMMU outside the spacecraft waving a sign that says "first team"

Here's a picture of our landing site

Oops, that was the wrong pic. Stupid mixed-up links:@
THIS is our landing site

Iron Hill will be located roughly in the center of the crater:)

Your landing site is sexy  !
In the shadow of the Iron ... I am looking forward to the landing !

Me too...it's been a long, quiet trip.
Mo, you will be the first on the surface, and in charge of getting the habitat section built, so you need to familiarize yourself with the base diagram. It can be found in post #105 of this thread or in Practice Pack 2 on O-H.

Your team will be landing in April of next year, but do keep an eye on this first rotation...it should prove instructive;)

I like the first site better...however, Im not going to be there.

My computer has decided to take a mind of its own, and decide that it wants to lag spike frequently. This makes orbiter virtually unplayable, unfortunately. If a solution arises in the next few days then im back on. Until then, the honor goes back to you Tmac.

Iron Hill Project: Halloween Edition:blink:
First, the Discovery mysteriously ended up on the ground in nother Africa, and now...

Four of our cargos are missing. I haven't done a full inventory yet, but it looks like they were some of the "extra" modules I packed to represent our food and supplies. (Could Orbiter be that intelligent?)

UPDATE:
I did that inventory, and it looks like the missing cargos will not cut into our base building. Phew!

Weekly update.
I've spent the last week rehearsing for the landing. For the most part, the practice sessions are going well.

When we touch down, I will take the first steps on the surface. I'm thinking of something really cool to say--a Bible verse, maybe? Then I'll pass the scenario to Felipi, who will be in charge of getting the habitat section built.

Nice! But there are some atheists in the mission, so I think you should take care about the choice of the verse...

Will do;)
Make sure you study that base diagram. We'll drive the Azure about 200 meters straight ahead from the ship and set up the base so it's oriented north...

Okay, guys, here's what we're going to do:
We need to do one more space walk, to check the landing legs. This will be Saturday night, and I'd like either RickD or Lydia to take it. The chat meeting for this will be Saturday at 23:00 UTC.

The orbital insertion is predicted for 01:20 UTC Monday/21:20 EDT Sunday night. The chat meeting will start one hour before that.

This is it, gentlemen!:) It's been a long trip. Good luck to everybody:thumbup:
