Was defending from an SA-6, which almost got me, weren't it for the lucky appearance of a bridge.

In bridge we trust.

What about awarding a Medal of Honor to it.

Yes, we are still on track to release by the end of this month! Last week we created a test version of the DCS World 2.5.0 branch and we and our testers are hammering away on it. DCS World 2.5.0 will be released as an update to the Open Beta on 31 January 2018, and the 2.5.0 Open Beta installer will be available the next day. We are staggering these to avoid overloading our file servers.
The 2.5.0 “Release” version will launch a week or two later, depending on how the Open Beta release goes.
The Steam version will come a week after the 2.5.0 Release version is launched.
In parallel, we are also preparing the final update for DCS World 1.5.8. This will continue 1.5.8’s availability, but it will be unsupported following the release of DCS World 2.5.
You can find a detailed description of the DCS World 2.5.0 launch process on the DCS forum.

Oh, and by the way, next week the merged version 2.5 with the completely overhauled Caucasus map will be released. :)

Can't they delay it until 2019... I don't really want to buy a new computer this year.

Videos and screenshots are so gorgeous!
What hardware do you guys have/need in order to enjoy it to a good/satisfying graphics level?

The Nevada Map is working "solala" on my current 2013 notebook...

I'll report back when 2.5 gets released. For what it's worth, 2.1 works quite well with my system (i7 4790k @4.5GHz and GTX 1060 6GB).

I've never had good results with DCS, the pointer lags way behind mouse movement making it very hard to even use menus. Tried setting on lowest graphic, but still not good.

Thanks Fabri 91, I will.
Once I can get the builders gone from my kitchen, and dig out my pc from the toy-room. which is doubling as standby kitchen/utility room!

Hindsight: I may be confusing DCS with the company that does the Battle of Moscow series?
My highest spec machine is at the back of the toy-room, haven't been able to use it for months. Should be able to set it up tomorrow.

Aaand it's out! 2.5 open beta has been released, with the "normal" version to follow in the coming weeks.

In any case, any install can be converted to the Open Beta by navigating to your DCS install folder, subfolder "bin", opening a command prompt there and entering the following command:
Code:
DCS_updater.exe update @openbeta

Apologies to DCS, just downloaded via Steam to my 2014 HP Envy laptop. Going well, so looking forward to the latest PC box.

However, its IL-2: Battle Of Stalingrad that is still peculiar. As soon as reloaded via Steam, the slow cursor persist through the game and makes ir unusable.
Have a go on the modern machine.

here is the awesome, official trailer :hailprobe::

The real question is...what sort of hardware would you need in order for the game to actually look like that while running in VR at 90fps? :)

You'd probably need a very beastly GPU, but I'm happy to report that at least on a resolution of 2560*1080 it seems to run very well with quite high settings on my 1060!

The warm tint in the first picture is due to the A-10's gold-tinted canopy.
