It's not my place to say, but maybe Richy might consider a password on his server? Has there been trouble in the past?
Add some air defenses around your airport... some lessons that Germany learned in WW2 can not be wrong.
That's what I did. Of course there is still a possibility of a enemy SEAD strike. And of course, the fighter need also their right to exist. ;-)
Furthermore I'm watching what goes on on the server. If anybody behaves inadequately I'm going to kick that person after a single warning.

I think that all aircraft are cold and dark is also a nice barrier for lowbrow trolls. So I'd prefer an open server, so we get at least a bit activity if not that much OF people can join.

I think about adding a russian carrier with some Flankers. Are there other aircraft that are capable of carrier ops that need a spawnpoint there?

I would then at least also prefer some Flankers on my own side for being able to attack the carrier.

AWACS?

Ok, then... adding Flankers... ^^

The mission already contains AWACs. But liked to know of player controlled aircraft for carrier ops.

Hello,
I have a little problem with my G940:
I defined a "death zone" and a little curve for the joystick.
If I use the trim function in the SU-27, the joystick is moving by force feedback. The problem is, that the "death zone" and the curve are not moving with the trim...

I would love to be able to assist with your query, if in any way I could, but you lost me completely!

It is very unlikely, but if I am free at the time on either day I'll pop in and be a quiet adversary/target-drone in a carrier based SU-33. I don't do too much fighter stuff or MP on DCS, so the practice would be appreciated, if my connection does not dump out.

If I use the trim function in the SU-27, the joystick is moving by force feedback. The problem is, that the "death zone" and the curve are not moving with the trim...
So if I put the stick forward, the elevator moves, then it goes slower, sops (because joystick is in death zone), then it moves again...
So in my mind, the "death zone" and the "curve" should move with the trimming...

If I deactivate force feedback, I cannot trim the SU-27 :-(
Any Idea?

In FC2 I disabled the ForceFeedback in the "producer.cfg" but I can't find this file in DCS:FC3 :-(
The DCS forums would probably be a better place to ask this. Maybe start here:

Ah it's a bit complicate to explain but I will try again:

For Example:
If you define a "death zone", the "death zone" is always in the physical center of the joystick.

If you trim one axis, the ffb joystick just moves out of the physical center, but the joystick is centered at the new "trimmed" point by a "force".

But the "death zone" keeps to be in the physical center.
Same issue for curves...

The reason why I need a curve is that the joystick is to sensitive. (If I just touch the stick very little the aircraft begin to roll / pitch), so I can not fly straight on :-(

But I reduced the problem with a linear axis using "saturation".
Before I thougt I will loose maneuverability, but normaly you don't need 100% Roll or Pitch, maybe 60% are enogh, I'll hope even for dogfights ;-).
The good think is that I won precision

Maybe one day ED will fix that problem that center of death zone and center of defined curves will keep in the center of the "trim force point"...

You might have trouble finding answers online because the term is 'dead zone' rather than 'death zone'.
But this first Google result says try using a slight curve only and no dead zone: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=43234
"flatten the curve out, minimise the dead zone and be gentle"
"yes, flatten the curve and maybe lower the Saturation Y. A large curve magnifies the trim response as the control gets further to the limits."

In all the reading I've been doing lately only the Su33 comes up as a carrier ops aircraft (and the F18 whenever that will appear). I suppose part of the fun could be seeing what you can land on a carrier. :)

Helicopters are certainly carrier ops capable. Maybe some spawns for them on the carrier? Land based flankers sounds like a good idea too (for both sides). With carrier groups not too far offshore missions can start on land and end on the carrier.

Maybe an opposing USA carrier group as well to have some fun with and fly helos to/from but I'm getting ahead of myself here.... as much or as little as you like and whatever makes sense for your mission.

I added a red carrier with two Su-33. There is a blue carrier too now, but I couldn't place any blue Su-33s.

btw: A new update is out. Server runs on newest version.

edit:
Server is open now. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to set up a Teamspeak server yet.

Yep, will be there in about 15 minutes. Updating nearly complete.

Need to update here... one moment

I don't know what the update did, but I see the Sabre is available for preorder. :) ($50 though!!)

$50 for pre-order? How expensive will it be when it is out???

Planned to pre-order it like the Fw 190, but in this case, I have to ask my controlling.

I think this is the release price. It's not a very early preorder. Same with Dora. (?)

What a glorious ending: Exactly in that one moment when I ejected from my burning wreck on the tarmac DCS crashed... :-P

But was a nice session. With some nice aerobatics and dogfight training at the end! Thanks Nik! :D

Thanks Richy. Finally got that P-51 off the ground seconds before the end!

I'm checking out other servers right now flying the Sabre and I'm tempted to pick it up. I did get a 60% coupon code with my TrackIR - maybe this is the one to use it on.

Are you guys going to pick it up anytime soon?

How big is the update? More than a few hundred MB would mean I will not be able to join you on Saturday.

The update was just under 1GB for me.... I think.... and has this:

(from: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=127298)

• DCS: F-86F Sabre release
• New MiG-15bis AI aircraft
• Oculus DK2 support
• Fixed label visibility for external view saved being carried over from previous multiplayer sessions
• Added additional radio frequencies to each airfield to support F-86F and Fw 190 D-9 radios
• Corrected rear gun aiming for the Tu-22M3
• Corrected A-10A HUD jittering when firing the gun
• Corrected mission 8 of the Ka-50 Deployment Campaign

The Sabre pre-purchase gives you access to the open Beta right away.

That's it, the best idea for the mission: upon, say, destroying the first tank group, a horde of MiG-15 attacks. :shifty:
