News Add-ons working in Orbiter 2016

DG-EX still works. Though it's still a beast to get into orbit!

One issue: It starts off in the bushes to the west of the runway. Change the position in the .scn file to this:

POS -80.6824940 28.5967940

and it will work. (Note: The DG in the "Delta-glider > Virtual cockpit" scenario starts off in the same position; you can use the same fix!)

For me the MFD's updated for Orbiter 2016 are imcompatible with it. I installed burn time calculator, tranx 2016, base sync and whenever I press select on an MFD these don't show up. Can somebody help me?

> OrbiterSound has many problems, including the following:
- Several wrong callouts with the Deltaglider.
- Some missing sounds with the Shuttle-A (the gear up/down callout and the forward translate RCS sound are missing).
- And indeed the Radio panel CTD problem.
So it's only partially working correctly.

> Furthermore, I am using the ScreenCapture add-on without any problems as far as I noticed.

> TransX has been updated and I am using it without problems.

> Don't forget to mention the updated D3D9Client, although it can be considered as not a real "add-on".

> And also good to mention: the XR-fleet itself has been perfectly updated, but DanSteph's UMmu on which it depends is not.
For example: selecting an evacuated UMmu from the XR2 results in a CTD.
I have the same issues.

Hi,
I have done some testing. It wasn't thorough but checked some quickly.

You can add to "planets" list:

- Sedna by Anroalh12 http://orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=35021
- Eris and Dysnomia - Addon v.2.0 by Joseph Morgan [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=1343"]Eris and Dysnomia[/ame]
- Pluto and moons by Joseph "Piper" Morgan [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4595"]Pluto and Moons[/ame]

Haven't landed or tested collision but I assume this counts for all bodies, no problems in adding them.

Ships:

- Chapman Modules by piper and update asbjos http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?p=541081
- Orion MCPV http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=34839
By francisdrake
- MAV - Mars Ascent Vehicle http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=36504
By francisdrake
- Jason-3 by BrianJ [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=6891"]Jason-3[/ame]
- Mars Cargo Dragon by Donamy and BrianJ [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=6971"]Mars Cargo Dragon for Orbiter2016 RC1[/ame]

MFD:

LaunchMFD by Enjo [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2802"]Launch MFD - v. 1.6.4 for Orbiter 2016[/ame] isn't added yet. :)
Btw I'm loving the addons. Thanks.

Make sure you have them selected in the [Modules] tab one the startup screen?

Good luck with that. It will be a lot of work, and I bet you will get into license troubles for your daring to give people something for free. Not worth the effort IMHO.

Well, you should never become smith if you are afraid of the heat.

I have no problem with GPL trolls. I can ignore them in general and sue them into a life of poverty in special when they just call for breaking the license of SSU or do actually so.

There is just one annoying thing. Right now, we never needed to care about the real names of our contributors. Should we ever need to sue somebody, we need to do it in the name of all involved contributors... or become a legal entity (Like an association)

Instead of going from scratch, perhaps it would be a better approach to talk with the SSU guys and use their already open-sourced material to get started. This way it would be harder for someone to show up and bitch about how you've violated some license and how your work is illegal. Of course SSU is GPL'ed, which makes it a target already, but the more people are involved, the better the legal standing against trolls.

Also, we absolutely encourage forking our code, as long as you respect our license. :) After all, if you take our code, we also want to be able to take your code, if we like it. ;)

Ravensheart system and Enterprise TMP are both working.
RWarp is working, but getting stuck thruster syndrome sometimes.
(you need both spcecraft 2 and 3 for Ravenheart which seem to be working OK)

And if you're forging for free while getting burned all the time, you should perhaps question your hobbies.

Well, classic hot forging without burns is actually almost impossible. Of course, today you could let a robot do that - if somebody would make one.

TBH I can care less about the trolls. one, they have no right and two, they dont know the law.

If you can care less, doesn't it mean that you actually do care about them a little bit? But I think I understand what you mean.

My point is that doing it from scratch might be more trouble than it's worth, given that there already is many open-sourced material in the SSU project. E.g. meshes and textures, animation definitions, flight characteristics etc.

Urwumpe wrote that the SSU team actually encourages forking, as long as it stays GPL. So if you don't mind that some people here say that the GPL is not applicable to Orbiter addons, and that the notion is that it is somehow illegal to distribute them, then I'd say using SSU material is your best bet to recreate Shuttle Fleet. Perhaps you can even invite David413 to participate  .

Bad foul play, Face.

:rofl:Yeah, perhaps so. But isn't it sad that a call for collaboration can be actually seen as foul play? IMHO that speaks volumes.

I have them selected but they don't appear on MFD.

I was having the same issue with BaseSync - it was there in the module tab and I checked it - but not there when select was chosen in the simulator.

I had loaded the x64 version of Microsoft VC 2015 Redist. since my system and OS are 64 bit. I went back and got the x86 version and all is well.

Perhaps this will help in your case as well.

Cheers

The following add-on works fine in Orbiter 2016:
