Sorry to step in guys and please note this NOT a critique to the devs: ...

I have started a new thread for this because I think that you sure did not waste you time "not criticizing" our work, if you did not really have something to get off your chest.

http://orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?p=541212#post541212

I don't think we are immune against criticism and we will sure not stop developing SSU and retract all releases because you have stated your expectations on us. Don't worry.

ISS AtoZ works in Orbiter 2016, but all .dll vessels, (Soyuz, Progress, P4, CMG etc.) CTD when you press F1 for VC. SC3 vessels work in VC mode however.

Don,
does that mean that all the other dependent addons required prior to install Thorton ISS (which in turn is required for your ISS) work fine with Orbiter2016?
I mean stuff like LC39-EAFB, ProtonLV, R-7, Soyuz...

The problem with the Falcon 9 and Heavy is all the dependencies. It feels like going down a rabbit hole, with many mods even.

What exactly is compatible with 2016.

Would love mod makers to compile packages with dependencies and requirements maybe...

Orbiter needs a CKAN

Does anyone know if SSU works in 2016

Using Rocketship Heinlein (an old but simple Spacecraft 3 add-on), and UAP I have successfully made a trip to lunar orbit via a stop over at the ISS.

So: Rocketship Heinlein, Spacecraft 3 and Universal Auto Pilot all seem to work in 2016.

Current release has problems, but GLS was already working on a Orbiter-beta branch of SSU in the past months and a release of a Orbiter 2016 version is close.

And about CKAN... we have Orbit Hangar Mods for that.

I spend quite a bit of time testing addons for orbiter 2016. Here are my results so far :

Confirmed Working
-----------------
- IMFD
- AeroBrakeMFD
- Ascension Island
- CamShake
- Green Hud Edited
- HoverMFD

Working
-----------------
- Relativistic Warp v1.5
- SuborbMFD v2.1

Not Working
-----------------
- UAP v0.3.1 - Some provided scenarios provoke CTDs, although I managed to put a DG in orbit from Cape Canaveral without problems.

Can't you smell my T levels?
I have reuploaded my addons with the following changes:
- Launch MFD and TransX use a workaround against not cutting rotational acceleration at the end of manoeuvre (thanks, Mythos)
- versions for a given Orbiter versions now have the year suffix, because otherwise they were overwritten by other versions (thanks, orb)
- compiled in MSVC redistributables as per dbeachy's advice, hence no more redistributables' dependencies need to be satisfied

Don't install Kourou-CSG base (Kourou CSG global - parts 1 & 2) : tiles management in Orbiter 2016 is different. And also I don't know yet if the animated arms and umbilic are are functional (dll) etc...

I'm planning soon a new adapted version...:coffee:

Also, "just release the source code" is not a very good argument (although of course a valid one) if you know David's past and the recent discussions about open-source licenses.
I think our best bet is to make a new one from scratch. but in a matter that the code is open source so other people can contribute with it.

I'm not sure I want to post something as working, if all addons required for it to operate are not working...:shrug:

This Heinlein? RocketshipHeinlein V1.2
Broken for me. Craft invisible, engines don't work.

Edit: However, Luna 1.3 and RollingStone both seem to work ok. I got Luna into a stable orbit from KSC without any trouble.

ISS A2Z works, but any X.dll will crash when you press F1 to view the VC view. All SC3 vessels work fine.

Reusable Nuclear Shuttle for Orbiter 2010 (RNS, which I like), appears to work OK.

This one? [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5339"]Orbital Transit System: Reusable Nuclear Shuttle v0.5(Beta)[/ame]

Luna1.3wLaunchpad does not work... The gantry doesn't move, the base has no texture and the platform is right in the middle of the crawlerway.

Good luck with that. It will be a lot of work, and I bet you will get into license troubles for your daring to give people something for free. Not worth the effort IMHO.

Instead of going from scratch, perhaps it would be a better approach to talk with the SSU guys and use their already open-sourced material to get started. This way it would be harder for someone to show up and bitch about how you've violated some license and how your work is illegal. Of course SSU is GPL'ed, which makes it a target already, but the more people are involved, the better the legal standing against trolls.

I have reuploaded my addons with the following changes...
Enjo, your [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=6988"]Launch MFD - v. 1.6.4 for Orbiter 2010[/ame] lists [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=6966"]ModuleMessagingExt for Orbiter 2016[/ame] as required.
Since on OH we also have the "old" ModuleMessagingExt (for 2010-P1), is this just a typo, is it a limitation of current OH platform, are they interchangeable...or what?
