Orbiter Screenshot Thread

Great!

Do you handle the number of points different? I'm asking because the original MapMFD hits performance on some older systems and maybe your MapMFD could be a cure for that.

Not yet. But I plan to. I guess I could leave a setting for plotting every nth map point, and thus reduce the resolution. (much like I did when creating this: https://www.orbithangar.com/showAddon.php?id=bb528dcb-1b0f-48e8-8d7b-02c72e3bf489).
Or maybe even get it to automatically choose a lower resolution when fully zoomed out. I'll have to see. :hmm:

----

Bonus projection: now with a transverse Mercator projection. Yellow orbit is ISS, green orbit is a DeltaGlider in a 3:1 resonance orbit (exactly three orbits per day, and thus the orbital track lining up every three orbits).

Interesting! Polar projections are useful for future missions - moon south pole landings.
Can you make it display some bitmaps as background ? Would be useful for altimetry or slope maps - and they exist for the Moon and Mars ;)

I'm not sure if I know how to add a BMP in a MFD. I did it with my GeostationaryMFD for Orbiter2010, but removed it in Orbiter2016 as I could not get it to work anymore. If anyone has a guide for doing it, then please let me know.

But anyway, I don't think a BMP is a good way of doing it, as it wouldn't support zooming, unless you have a huge BMP of the planet/moon.

I could maybe implement something like what is available in enjo's Topographic Map MFD.

But I'll have to look into it, if it's feasible at all. No promises. ;)

I'm making a MapMFD clone. Before I got far, I dove into the world (hehe) of map projections.
Old MapMFD on the right. My MFD on the left...
Watching the second screenshot I wondered if it would be possible to rotate the globe?
It kind of asks for it!

A hopefully unlikely scenario.

Just started working on making mine scale.

Sunset from the cupola.

PS: Curious how to activate the middle MFD in the cupola. Also the Dextre control panel. Are those public mods?

The SPDM/SSRMS panel in the Cupola is not operational. The middle MFD isn't functional either, unless you use the Cupola_VB, that Fred18 did that comes with the VesselBuilder1 add on.

Working on LM Rendezvous Radar/Transponder code for NASSP.

Thought I'd grab this picture through Colombia's sextant, of Eagle coming up to meet us from below.

Hey there, long time no see.
After the lockdown I was eager to get back to Orbiter !

Here's my "few" screeshots of my last flight.

Really nice pics!
Glad to see I am not the only one trying SSU.

Beautiful sunrise over KSC with Discovery on the pad in preparation for the first Integrated Tanking Test (S0038, "sue 38") of the STS-114/LF1 pad flow.
