Will you be making a new d3d9 client for rev9?

In the stock DG, with inline client, every time I press CTRL-UP in 2D cockpit I have a CTD.

I never noticed this before, but I just tried it with a couple scenarios and am getting the same thing.

BTW, Ripley, can you try to load the following default scenarios and see if they immediately cause a CTD for you as they do me?

  • Deltaglider -> Docked at ISS
  • Checklists -> Mission 2 - ISS to Mir
  • Checklists -> Mission 3 - Deorbit
  • Shuttle-A -> Docked at ISS
  • Space Shuttle Atlantis -> Atlantis docked at ISS
  • Space Stations -> Mir

There may be more but that's all I've found so far.

I've also found that the 2010 Edition -> Welcome scenario looks very messed up and eventually crashes outright.

Playback -> Atlantis undocking uses the OMS engines to undock, which looks really weird.

The opening camera angle for DG to moon tutorial is below the ground and the orbital plane is not showing.

I've loaded them all, but none of them causes me a CTD. I've cycled cockpits with F8, went to external view, came back in, they do just fine.

About "broken" scenarios, the 2010 Edition -> Earth views -> The great lakes starts with Shuttle-A's main throttles at 100%.

Hello everybody,

I'm embarrassed to have to download, as with the previous set of textures accompanying the version 8, all the files one by one (around 160 files already in the previous case). I'm fat32 ... This is not really a problem, only a matter of time, but...

160 files, plus some areas that were not present in the " set " for the version 8 ( less Canaveral 10_08 latest version - Levels 11-19 - downloaded yesterday separately; less EarthHi_12_14 not in the latest version...level 10 only ) ... and, sometimes, alteaaerospace is very busy ...

These new files contain (http://www.alteaaerospace.com/users/martins217/news.html) "... level 11 and above. " (by the fact, 11, 12 and 13), except the last Canaveral 10_08.

Instead of downloading all this, if I only download those missing compared to version 8, and if I take off levels 10 (elev, mask,surf) from those files of version 8, is it equivalent ? Using of course simultaneously the last EarthLo (1 to 10) and removing the 10_08 Canaveral Version 8 (10 to 18).

Note: to compare the two 10_08 published in recent days (10 to 19, and 11 to 19) the only difference, indeed, seems to be that abscence of the
level :rolleyes: ... 10 in the latter. By the fact, to remove the level 10 of the first, is it equivalent?

( I think than the answers are yes to all - please, don't upset me :tiphat: - but...)

Maybe it's an issue for Martin, maybe its not.

I was taking some screenshots (from orbiter.exe) for my webpage, and I inadvertently rapidly hit the printscreen key twice. This is what I got:

I didn't change anything betwen the two captures.
Strange that in the second screen there isn't even the top right "pause" label.

...I'll try to update all Earth texture packs later today on the alteaaerospace server...[snip]...So for anybody who downloads a fresh set of Earth textures into a clean directory (not an existing one!), everything should be consistent, and there won't be a need to separately download the EarthHi_10_08.zip linked to in this thread.

Yes, sorry, the files were mostly processed on the 22nd, but uploaded on the 23rd, so it looks like the modification dates got affected. I have now changed the date tag on the "news" page to 23rd, to avoid confusion.

Xyon's server hasn't been updated yet, I think (but probably will be soon). Dbeachy1's server has the latest textures. And yes, the new high-res EarthHi_10_08.zip has been incorporated into the the "full" Earth.7z file (which now contains 6 instead of 5 fragments).

I don't know what the question is. There have been a few updates (mainly the higher resolution Florida textures, aka EarthHi_10_08.zip, and the addition of some missing tiles, including South America). If you are interested in these, you download them. Otherwise you can just stick with what you've got already.

This is still a beta, including the textures, so more changes can be expected. If you are on a tight download budget, it isn't necessary to follow every iteration of its evolution.

I'll see and do some experiments. I can download pretty quickly but it can be even faster for me - without going into detail - to simply remove the level 10 in the files I had previously downloaded for the version/release/update 8.

Apologies, we're in the middle of a family emergency and I'm a touch behind with getting my mirror into sync. Best suggestion for now is to ignore my mirror and pull the files from Altea.

And when I climbed up the textures disappear

in d3d9 I don't see any scenery. Just buildings and green ground

I think we would need some kind of function to get exact planet radius for given lng,lat. So, that meshes could be snapped to the surface or something like that. One problem is that buildings those are very far from each other may belong into the same mesh group.

Problems with SVN chekout

Hi, I'm trying to download Orbiter 2014 beta binaries with my SVN Tortoise, but the procedure fails and I receive this error message: "Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'svn://orbiter-forum.com/orbiter' ".
What can I do? :idk: Help me, please!!

I don't know how to fix your SVN troubles, but you can get a ZIP of the newest commit from here: http://bitbucket.org/face/orbiter/get/tip.zip
