Project XR3 Phoenix (WIP)

Isn't a layered .psd file a paintkit?

For me me paintkit is a file where all elements are properly matched, file has masks and things like weathering, panels, decals are on separate layers.

I cannot promise that

So a template.

Paintkit can be a layered .psd file, but a layered .psd file doesn't need to be a paintkit. :P

Hrm... Just had an idea for something that maybe could be incorporated by dbeachy: Cumulobadass. AKA this:

My thought is that it would engage at about Mach 0.95 to 1.05 at any altitude below 1km. It would be a pretty cool effect if it can be made possible. If not, I understand.

something along those lines??

No, more of a level flight effect. Similar physics behind it, though. It's that classic conical cloud around a high-speed aircraft in high humidity.

Now that I think about it, is there a possibility of creating wingtip vortex trails when pulling a high-load turn? maybe a particle stream from the wing and fin tips...

That's not question for me here :P I can come up with proper particle streams and textures but actual coding depends on Doug.

Xyon's XR Rolling Repair already implements vapor effects for XR vessels and he tells me he'll be creating an XR3 version as well, so I'll leave that effect to him. :)

Slowly merging parts and fixing issues.

About that "bumper sticker": what if it's on the ground and it's being photographed from a high place?

And sorry for being a grammar nazi here, but it's you're, not your're.

It's a Minor nit-pick and I don't know how much trouble it would be to change but I think the side windows would look better as a row of round portals / airliner-type windows. Those long rectangles on a curved (resumably load-bearing) wall just make me cringe.

I have the same problem with the DGIV.

I agree, the large surface area of those rectangular windows is unrealistic, plus a circle (or oval) can take pressure differentials better than sharp cornered polygons.

Since when XR series were realistic???

TBH I don't want to UVW map this thing again after that kind of edit.
