The F6 and F8 MDUs should be working now. For the moment, the gear animation doesn't work; I'm in the process of fixing this.

Well, it isn't the only thing that's broken: The C3 Orbit DAP PBI lights isn't working anymore either.

But why really does it have to coincide with a shuttle launch, have you got everything you wanted to be done?
It gives us a deadline.

I've been thinking about my new hi-res SSME mesh: Are we going to include it? Maybe Donamy can then focus on updating the ET umbilical wells+doors on the orbiter?

I've fixed the DAP PBI issue. The gear should be (mostly) functioning now.

Works OK here. How about implementing Donamy's drag-chute for landing?

I can do the chute if someone sends me the meshes (or puts them on sourceforge). Here are the main things I'm planning to do:
  1. Chute
  2. Aft MDU
  3. Flt Cntlr Power switches
  4. Gear/Chute PBIs.
I should be able to get 1 and 2 done, but we may not have time for the other two.

I don't know where I can do my worst, I am currently reading the last changes.

I think I should finish the ODS, would be the easiest part to start.

I would ask if will be possible change orbiter vehicles with different textures and add Columbia mesh in next version 1.25.

Could you do it please?

Thanks a lot!

BTW: Dave very nice ODS!!

Urwumpe: It would be good if you can handle the ODS stuff.
xmariox: The next version will have the ability to change the name (but not the rest of the texture) of the shuttle.

Is there a way to have another shuttle be used ? A seperate mesh perhaps.

I think we can also swap textures as whole, I did something like that as 4 line code for a skin-capable container unit.

Maybe someone could work out a utility, that would set up which shuttle, to use before starting Orbiter.

I think it would make more sense to select this in the scenario. Maybe we can create some "system configuration" templates, which combine the many subsystem and visual options of each Orbiter into a single file. Maybe in such a way, that it not only uses the name of the orbiter for finding the configuration, but also the MJD.

How many aspects of the mission (including fake missions) would need to be available ?

Well, we would have structural differences of the Orbiters, different panel layouts between the Orbiters, different airlock designs, etc. I think we can maybe also simulate the different GPCs in the history pseudo-realistic, by giving the AP-101B longer and more often loading delays.

Also, I think we should include some special support for the alternate history Skylab project - alternative docking ports, maybe some other changes are needed.

How about crew ? Are we going to work for including seated crew for launch and reentry, and floating for on orbit ? Or just EVA astronauts on orbit.

Would be VERY cool if we could do this.

Anything you need from my side(except for the new meshes?) Hope to finish it up today and have it checked in.

add Columbia mesh in next version 1.25.
Well, I think we should at least add Columbia as she was post-1999-2001 OMDP config as she then had the most in common with the other orbiters(MEDS, scared for External Airlock, EDO capability, same general exterior apperance(NASA meatball logos) etc).

Heck, she even was assigned the STS-118/13A.1 mission then scheduled to fly in November 2003 to ISS, complete with an External Airlock and ODS.

Would be nice seeing Columbia at ISS at least once for the mission she really had post-107.

Well, first a mesh of the ODS with external airlock, maybe some animation references.
