Thanks for the screenshots. It was exactly what I needed to find the trouble spots. Both have now been dealt with. The issues were not very obvious which is why I missed them, especially the nose shape as it was only slightly visible from a few specific angles and you had to look for it.

Could someone upload a 4.2 package with the fixed orbiter mesh and the OMS pod normal maps I just checked in(I had forgotten to check in these prior to the 4.0 release)?

A few more issues: looking forward (at a shallow angle) on the bottom of the vehicle, there are 2 gaps in front of the MLG doors. Also, looking at the nose from the front, on the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions aft of the nose cap the mesh seems very jagged, as well as forward of the vehicle name and where the FRCS meets the fuselage on the sides.

So, should I initiate the SSU 4.2 proceedings?

If there's nothing else that needs attention, then go ahead.

Also looks like the outer elevons need remapping on the top.

They don't need to be remapped really, more of a new texture altogether to fit their new shapes and sizes.

I've corrected the MECO targets, so it's all go on my end... should I put 4.2 out now?

I don't see any reason to hold the release. The mesh seems solid enough with no major flaws.

I would still recommend doing a Release Candidate first.

There were no complaints so far, and this time it seems like everything is well.
Moving forward, when shall I merge the beta branch to the trunk? Today, tomorrow?

First things first: What are you trying to do?

Various things.
Deploying IUS, launching STS-1, preparing an OMS-2 burn on STS-3.

For now, I would be most interested in post-launch ops, like preparing for an OMS-2 burn.
