Film Retrieval Door Mechanisms
1. Canister Side Doors - There were five doors in the side of
the canister. Four doors were for film retrieval by the crew
during EVA from the center workstation.

Yes, thats correct. The whole station was sunpointing anyway for the solar arrays, the scientific images just needed more accuracy to be useful.

I can do this. The thing I am not sure about is the height of the can to the sunshield. Right now it is even with the top of the sunshield top. The Can is smaller than the opening in the sunshield The front is even with the top of he sunshield

I wonder if we should see the dock hatches?

On the meshes. I have 2 1 exterior and the other VC. But on the VC is has exterior parts. the reason is so in the VC mode you look out the hatch window,... you see the exterior mesh.

hey that really looks super I think it ready to fly. I wouldn't worry about the docking hatches do to the drogue system

I think this is right. Because the canister rotates 120 degrees it is hard to tell what +Z is in the images. But here the image is rotated. to align with Z+

Got the VC to work. I took parts from the the exterior mesh and put in the VC. So that from the VC view at the eva hatch you see the ship and not space. you can see the firemans pole

So the workstation goes next to the ladder. I guess that opening there is a film hatch?

Also there are 3 extendible booms

I wonder if the extendible boom should be a part of the skylab or seperate. If separate then the eva guy could extend?

Close. I was thinking on the controls. Make a pop out window for the telescope controls. Rotation/pitch of the mount.

Really need a good eva suit for the inside.

Could you make the telescope also automatically sunpointing or return to null position for EVA (which should be the default position if sunpointing fails)?

Maybe. So we know the center rotates 120 degree +/- and 2 degrees +/- pitch.

I have done solar panels with 1 plane of rotation. Not sure about 2 planes.

Which telescope or the whole center?

Not sure about the null position for eva?

The solar arrays should be fixed except deployment, the station points at the sun itself, but more coarsely than the telescope. Likely a higher deadband and lower rotation speed. The problem is just that the ATM handbook is still unpublished.

We get this now. The center rotates and pitches. Not sure about sun aiming though?

Well, the telescopes must just point at the sun. The station must also point at the sun. But the station is large and slow, the telescope can move faster and more accurate.

Not sure what you asking for. Sure Skylab using rcs may move to the sun. But the ATM would move also.
The telescope center unit can pitch 2 degrees +/- and rotate 120 +/- degrees. All that does is move the telescope to the top?

I know on the front is a sun sensor.

Also on the sunshield is a rectangle hole. I think it feeds to the star finder? But not seen any good images.
