Call Felix Baumgartner, I think he feels quite well at supersonic speeds.

I have to hugely thanks MusicBrainz Picard for tagging 950+ songs for me (which 99% are right, the 10-15 others songs are to be tagged manually, but still, huge time saver) !

Give another penguin wings! This time, the little arctic fellow gets to go to space!

Anyone else see the Mythbusters shoot a pingpong ball at Mach 1.4 last night? I have to try this now. Not supersonic, but as fast as I can. That air cannon design they used is brilliant. :)
Yeah, I saw that, it was pretty cool. I have to think there is a better way to do it, though. **queue Ping-Pong ball cyclotron** If you made the tube longer, it would work better. I know they supposedly had problems with the 100+ foot tube, but if they had multiple/better vacuum pumps, it might work better. If they shot air into the tube behind it in regular intervals, and then rebuilt the vacuum behind it, they might have been able to get it even faster (albeit with much greater complexity).

Does it include eight hours of trans-pacific flight? How about two hours of trying to understand any word by that bloody air traffic controller?

Although if I had the most realistic flight simulator™ I would probably try to land a 747 in the ocean. From that point of view it's a shame [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Airways_Flight_9"]Flight 9[/ame] was able to restart.

"A bit like negotiating one's way up a Badger's arse."

Let's just take a moment to appreciate the kind of character that would equate such flying conditions to those of a Badger's lower intestines.

I wasn't aware that Tu-16s had lower intestines. :P

They said that there was ten thousandsths of clearance on each side. If you set up a sabot of hot-wire cut and sanded high-density foam, you should get a much closer fit, and better performance. However, it will weigh a lot more...

Shouldn't 403 be "This is not the web page you are looking for"?
Or would that be "Stop right there, criminal scum!" said by a guard with an arrow in his knee?

Well, the only difference between the first and the second is the speed at which it crashes...

Maybe, but I think (for my own knowledge) that travel on our trains is worse than trying to cross the Pacific Ocean in a wooden boat.
In our country there is a famous group of comedians who portray the situation of our airlines:rofl:.
