This November 27th marks the 9th year exactly since the first orbiter release. in 2010 it will be the 10th. the whole orbiter community should do something to celebrate. 10 years is a long time for software, especialy freeware.

so what are we going to do to commerate the 10 year mark(DGVI skins obvously but what else).

DGIV :P
I say we all show up on the Doctors front doorstep and give him a BIG HUG!

Following which, the beta version will not be released ever because of fears as to what will happen to the poor Doctor then. ;)

Only the active members :P

We can all give him a smiley one !

:bighug:

Don't know that orbiter will be ten years old.:oh:

I think we should make an 'Orbiter Rick roll' and all of us should send him it. Click the 'about' page on the launchpad for his address!

We should give him a trip to Proxima Centauri.

I think that maybe we should get Martins an iPod with Tex's videos preloaded so that he can enjoy the best of orbiter on the go

Maybe the much-talked-of OrbiterCon will finally occur.

Nov 27 2010, were are we going to meet, UCL? or somewhere in the States?

I would have suggested Germany, because I know how to organize conventions, but the convention of my own chapter (PhoenixCon) is at the same timeframe, so somebody else will have to do the management and get the location.

Needless to say, anything outside northern Germany is outside my own travel budget, so organizing the convention myself would be the only way for me to attend it.

On a practical level, we could all donate money and either send a big check to the Good Doctor or buy him something very cool. :)

On an idealistic level... RAVE AT MARTINS HOUSE. :stirpot::chainsaw::happybday:

Hey, why not make a lot of really cool addons and release them on that day to commemorate?
