Would it be silly of me to ask for a Super Draco test scenario?

Finally Achieved a Successful ISS Install

After three days and several re-installs. Not to mention hours upon hours of reading. I was ready to give up.

Nevertheless, I persevered and was rewarded on Christmas Eve of all things. I achieved a successful install of "Donamy and Thorton's ISS for Orbiter 2016." When I booted up the Orbiter 2016 D3D9 Client Version I just about fell out of my Chair!

This International Space Station @ 4K resolution is one of the most stunning models I have ever seen to grace a PC. What a beautiful piece of work.

Now if I can get the some of the SpaceX addons to work without messing things up.

Scenario for today's DM-2 mission launch.
ISS vectors from JPL Horizons, OCISLY position from reddit.
Requires the Falcon9 add-on.

Using the reported position of ASDS "OCISLY" means the booster stage has to be on a 40deg azimuth for 54deg inclination, so the upper stage has some steering to do to align planes with ISS (but not that much, plenty of dV to spare).

No worries, Don :) I don't know of any Autodocking MFD's. RendezvousMFD is one of my fav's, but it doesn't do docking.

the ISS A to Z is super and one of the best addons for orbiter. Still would like to see a real time tracking of it and a complete model with all the attached vehicles would be great.

What do you mean by real time tracking?

This should have every thing you need.

Hey Don what about Pursuit MFD that has an autodocking feature.

I can't get it to work. I don't know if it's not working, because of the VB1 vehicle I'm trying to use. There isn't a good manual on it.

Cool, "PursuitMFD" might be an option then, and I seem to remember that Wishbone's "PrecessionMFD" also had a docking assist function, don't think I ever used it though.

Back in the Shuttle Fleet days in 2010 there were scenarios posted that had the ISS location in real time and had it in the right place and on the right orbital track. I could leave my house and drive out into the country turn that real time scenario on and the ISS and or the Shuttle would fly over head. I have tried to use scenario editor to do that but no joy with it being right, most likely my limitations. It just a cool way to use orbiter.
The updated ISS A to Z would show the ISS with all the visiting vehicles docked with out having to add all of these every time you load orbiter up.

I use the autodock in PursuitMFD all the time and it works great. You have to be already on the same side of the target vessel as the target dock, because it works blindly. Then use TGT to set your target vessel, and LDK and TDK to set your local dock and target dock. Then I set the distances to 0 0 0 with the DIS. Hit APD and sit back. I usually hit APD again to disable it just as I am coasting in a the last .3 meters or so. Then you will lock together with the target vessel.

You can use the TLE converter in the Scenario Editor TLE.
