Yes, there is plenty of room there. It almost could have been a two-seater, A-6 style.

Or maybe Su-34 style? If a toilet still fits there.....

I must say, a toilet closet sounds like a good idea. In 0g, the pilot has room to go behind the seat. Which has to be an ejection seat.

Here are the hover thrusters anyway. TVC will be necessary.

Are you sure? The spacecraft looks rather small and light, the RCS of it could be enough. Like a quadrotor.

And now I'm thinking to it, the good thing is that, if we have to rescue some stranded astronaut, now we have some pressurized space to carry him/her back to safety.

Now the spacecraft ideally needs a pressurized hangar, because there is no airlock. But given its small size, this shouldn't be an issue. Something of the size of a space station module would do the job.

Edit : now with a bedr- erm 'sleeping closet'. Mostly designed for Lunar gravity or 0g (with straps). On Earth, you have two options to take a nap. Sleep on the ejection seat, which most military pilots can certainly do. Or open the cockpit and rent an hotel room. Also found the perfect sliding door shape, rather cool.

Back to working on the Klein Vision AirCar, an add-on (which I released half-finished), now with a rudimentary virtual cockpit (WIP), PBR materials, better wheel and propeller animations.

I just updated the GitHub repository and will soon make a better release.
Thank you all for your patience with me.

When I first discovered Orbiter in 2010, my first thought was to create my own spaceships. More than a decade later, I'm fulfilling that dream, designing one of my ships in Blender (similar to the Arrow Freighter that always captivated me). This time it's the MSS Universe, an intergalactic ship (why not?).
Right now, I'm designing the command bridge, decorating it with a colorful star-patterned carpet and lights, and I'm going to add the MFDs as holograms.

I'm going to make the bridge design similar to the bridge of the Axiom from Wall-E.

I started today and I still have a lot of work to do...

I'm still hesitating between some designs. I can make more than one I guess. The PB ambulance, the PB starfighter, the PB camping van...

I do like the sharp edges, I think it is a kind of design signature. A bit like Star Wars starfighters, they are a bit like that. 70's sci-fi vibe.

Dynamic aerodynamic testing didn't went very well. Well, it went for a moment, but the stall was brutal :D

That's precisely why I want an ejection seat on that deathtrap lol

Now that was without the extended wings surface and the new body flap.

@Urwumpe: this is what I get with the numbers you gave me (diameter 650mm, exp ratio 1:110). It fits my purpose extremely well :

If you have tips about the engine layout, you're welcome.

@N_Molson I would maybe consider just "glueing" (most of )the Astris stage to the back. With the more efficient composite structure instead of a more classic metal girder. This way, you could get everything self-contained in a realistic way. Also the ASTRIS stage is a little smaller than your current setup, so you could free a lot of space for other things, while not sacrificing much tank capacity.

Finally, since the BERTA engine is for vacuum anyway, you could make it discardable and reenter without it. It doesn't produce much thrust at surface pressure anyway, but you would need a small reentry RCS to control the vessel. Makes this more like a winged Mercury capsule ... but with approx. the on-orbit DV of Gemini.

And can I get a wingless version painted in yellow and black with some robot arms in the front?
