I am not sure if their knowledge is a positive one, if they are NOT launching the stage again.

And of course, it was a mission failure, for one foot out of the circle. X marks the spot.

I watched this landing in the office today on a triple monitor, with 5-6 guys not previously excited about this stuff and then going away amazed. We ended up talking about rocket equations and how to do landing guidance like this, and then I showed them the Glideslope 2.x codebase and the RV Orientation stuff I do for fun. Jaws dropped! Good times

I love how heavy the seas are, too, that barge is pitching and rolling a fair amount.

That's the spirit! :thumbup: It seems we've been dabbling in space since the 60s with hardly any change in rocket technology. We're finally doing cool, cutting edge things again and making advances.

Watching this stuff never gets old. I still miss watching onboard live footage of shuttle lunches, Zero to 25,000 mph with boosters and tank jettison, that's hard to beat. Seeing rocket boosters land comes pretty close.

I was too tired and went to sleep before the launch. Missed the launch and the landing, but the landing was amazing. Congrats to SpaceX.

I can see the RCS firing after landing, but how much propellant is there? How long can it keep it up? Any idea when they'll retrieve the rocket?
