Orbiter Day

Maybe the much-talked-of OrbiterCon will finally occur.

Ditto! Let's pick a place and time, and we can all get together. (Maybe secretly we could all suprise Martin at work and take him out for an extended lunch.)

Brighton Beach around noon?

Hopefully Martin will see this thread soon, maby he will have some ideas.

What about a flash mob at the UCL? We all dressed in astronaut suits bringing a large birthday cake to Martins office.

Of course, we shouldn't let Martin know about the flashmob, so he has no chance preparing an urgent key note for a conference in November 2010. ;)

I'm going to be co-ordinating a UK meet up sometime in December, there seemed to be quite a bit of interest in that.

;)

Now that is a GREAT IDEA!... everyone wearing an Astronaut suit.

The Orbiter 10 year anniversary will occur in:
[eventTimer]2010-11-27 00:00;%dd% Days %hh% Hours %mm% Minutes %ss% Seconds[/eventTimer]

10 years is a long time in the software world, even more so in the open source world.

i think we should build a big :probe: baloon and parade it around like it's thanksgiving - then we'd march by the unsuspecting doc's place, pick him up and take him for a "boys night out"
:happybday:

Old thread is old. Just saying. :shifty:

The flash mob would be a great idea. All I need is an excuse to go to the UK (if he's even there; his country is listed as Jamaica ATM) and I'm totally there. If anyone asks, it's for science. Why else would I bring an astronaut suit?!

Oh yeah, we all missed Probe Day on October 4th. Argh.

Like the countdown timer, how/where did you do that?
Maybe we should get him a trip to the ISS on a later Expedition. No? Ok.

someone should make a Orbiter-day-celebraton-DGIV skin and upload it here at the Tuesday before Orbiter day.

Or we make a nostalgic remake of the very-first Orbiter 2000.

Hmmm... if someone could run to the parking lot where Martin's car is parked, you should drive it away, and lay a big carton :probe: on the place where his car stood.

Scribbling "Hail Probe" in dry-wipe marker would be slightly nicer and would prevent depriving the good doctor of his mode of transport - he'd have to open up the scenario editor and spawn a deltaglider, and that gets old quickly.

I just work on an animated ´gif animation (something like a smilie) now.

Wouldn't be it better to put a crudely drawn probe on his car?

That's a penguin tag. We don't want him disappearing now.
