Haven't been able to connect to the server for the last couple of days--did the IP change again, perhaps?

No, server is just down while I figure out a solution for the mob spawning problem.

If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to offer them.

He's running Bukkit (according to his blog), bukkit doesn't come with an .exe like the vanilla.

That would be boring and If you need food you will have to grow it.

Growing food isn't difficult, and mushroom stew restores just as much health as a cooked porkchop (and doesn't require cooking).

Maybe get one of the mods for Bukkit that allows you better control of mob spawns?

-Make a farm
-Go do something else for awhile
-Come back after an in-game day or so (~20min)
-Make food from what has grown

You really don't need food that fast--four bowls of mushroom stew usually last me half an hour or so, at least. Just be careful.

In the specific case of the O-F server, there's my automatic farm running so mushrooms should be ready whenever you need them.
