Port of Blyth is hosting the Tall Ships over the Bank Holiday week-end. Blyth is were I grew up, and I'm there at the moment. Took these of some early arrivals

Quite a nice video promo on the page above.

Forgot, the ships are, Johann Smidt, Dar Modziezy and the Morgenster.

Bit murky today, if the weather is good next few days, I'll take a few more.

Possible that I also photographed one of them during my vacation to Denmark last week. Have seen a white fully-rigged ship in the horizon in the Skagarrak, going west.

I sadly had no Internet available (Well, voluntarily. I could just have enabled data roaming, but then I would have had a 56 € bill in seconds). Should I go to the coast again, I will turn a RaspPi into a AIS scanner to be prepared.

Also, I think I saw a Knud Rasmussen class in Skagen...

Quick research - it the ship is the brand new Lauge Koch (P572), which is currently getting outfitted, after it was build in Skagen.

Sadly, the picture of the fully-rigged vessel is a bit small even with maximum zoom and not in the best quality because of the thermals...
