Skylab 1973 rebuild

eva GUY. I think the gold visor is not see thru from the outside. And reflective?

I know the Skylab guy has no lights on helmets.

Here the eva guy is at the transfer station. The foot restraint needs to be moved back.

Pay more attention to the neutral posure in microgravity, your astronaut stands a bit too straight up.

I think just changing the angle of the foot restraint should fit perfectly around the "sunshield"

Gattis here is your older Skylab EVA guy and he really looks super with his legs and thighs bent
Want to share this AMSO CSM with new Skylab thanks to gattis for the Skylab and 4th rock for the White CSM

Thanks. So the guy is posable. So he can lean back and forth. Sure I can tilt the restraint back so he can lean back. I just set them at 90 degrees.

So it is the pressure control unit that hits the sunshield. I might have the pressure control unit too long?

They other guys I have made are not posable.

If I lean the guy out it fits.

I think the pressure unit maybe too big and low?

And I will make the gold shield reflective

Looks already better. If its possible to animate him, so he can bend back of forth or stretch out for something, it would of course look much cooler.

And he really needs a umbilical cord, if you have a mesh, I could assist you in the physics of animating it.

Thanks. Yes have a mesh. But do you mean the umbilical cord from skylab to the guy?

Not sure how that would be done.

I think the cord would require a lot of code? Here is the newest guy, and a cord 1 meter long I guess it it would need to be segmented and then each joint be able to move. in almost 360 degrees in all directions. But how to tell it which direction to move??

I am really going to love the project 👍

Would it be possible to dock with the SSV Space Shuttle? 🤔
I have not tried it. But it should. If it has the clearance.

Because the docks in skylab are set for apollo craft it would not align. Here is the Atlantis default shuttle. I think with the MIR it needed an docking adapter

This is what I am going with. It has the cord attached to the front. But having a cord from skylab to him would be a SUPER SUPER difficult.

Simplest case: Think of a semi tractor. By pulling the umbilical, it follows you, by pushing it, chaos is created. 😉 By just keeping the length of each segment constant, you already get a superficially realistic motion, and you can solve it iteratively in a for loop.

Remember this one?

Ok. But do you have a bunch of segments attached to each other? And then the attachments move?
But then when you go back into Skylab you would be pushing.

Remember this one?
Yes. I was just thinking about that.

I will try it. The guy moves my moving an attachment point. I can add an attachment at the end of the cord on the mesh

I believe that tether mfd addon worked by creating a chain of flexible attachment points. not positive though.

So tether MFD I tried in 2016 and got a CTD on exit. But tried on 2010. Not sure it you see the tether?

Here the guy is changing the film

Sounds like trying to add a tether might be to much work . It would be nice to have a tether EVA guy as was done with the ISS but be able to make him a free floater as well
