You're right. Such self-promotion documents are usually full of typos :lol:
 
Rough estimate gave me ~750Gs of acceleration at lift off
 
Though the information is unconfirmed, it is however rumored that the Sigma-V would have an even larger payload capacity. :hide:

While no solid designs concerning the Sigma-V have been put forward, some information leaked from Molson Industries corridors. We've heard about a "12 meters core diameter", "at least 4 Sigma-IV LRBs", "the use of NTRs for the upper stage", and "a launcher aimed at the Jovian system exploration". Of course, such rumors are quite hard to believe, and we think this is another sad exemple of born-dead paper rocket. We also notice that not a single Sigma design has still passed the step of computer simulation, so Molson Industries has everything to prove at this point.

By the way, do the GEM-60s really make a difference?

A huge difference, surprisingly. The rocket is a slow lifter, and they really help to save fuel. The improvement in payload capacity is impressive.

Some more leaks (at this point, it is a true waterfall) :

Late in the day, some more information escaped the austere walls of Molson Industries, Inc. headquarters. "We have heard a lot of scepticism about our projects. So we think it is time for us to announce what will be our masterwork : the Sigma-V launch vehicle. Imagine the impossible, then imagine something bigger, said Melon Tusk, the company representative. That launcher can potentially give us access to the entire solar system, he continued in a mystical frenzy. Oh, of course, we know that some say that our projects are gold-plated and that we drain uselessly the funds of an entire nation. We don't think to such petty considerations. We think about exploration. We think about innovation. We think about the future of the human species, and there is no price for that." Then the following picture was projected in the room, which caused a silence of death. Numerous facepalming attempts were performed by specialist reporters, but the room was dark and one good half of them actually slapped their ears.

At this point, we have to recall our readers that Molson Industries, Inc. has been selected as the prime contractor for NASA's future, extremely ambitious, and also extremely hypothetical exploration program.

Let me guess... even bigger than the Quasar 471 which was deemed
TOO BIG and has lost any claim of realism.

Also, I smiled at "Melon Tusk". I actually thought Elon Musk rhymed with Melon Tusk, when it was actually pronounced e-lawn moosk.

or maybe it does rhyme with Tusk

About the Quasar: soon, a new update (2.55). Not yet dll (the first will be probably the Jarvis, but is a long way to go), but some graphics modifications: the upper stage will have a new paint scheme, that will match the one of the Jarvis; the core will have some slight modifications in textures and mesh, and the boosters will be the redesigned ones already seen in the last Eridanus launch on "Orbiter Live Missions".

Resuming development - a few ideas

Most important things to think about :

- Black/white chessboard paint pattern for the upper stages (it actually makes the rocket go faster)
- Orange tank (that's obvious, any modern rocket must have a big orange tank)
- Some "artistic" lines drawn on the boosters (because it looks cool)
- Logos. Logos everywhere. MOAR logos ! Such a big rocket is an incredible advertisement panel.

Edit : reading that thread again... Wow, that was some cool stuff... I hope I'll be able to find back some files...

And: Reflective surfaces for more lens flares.

And why waste time for tiny logos on a large rocket? Make a HUGE logo the payload.

Oh if anyone has some good Delta Cryogenic Second Stage (DCSS) schematics (with dimensions, that's important), I'm taking ! I'd like to make one with real dimensions, and that extensible nozzle doesn't make things easy to get reliable figures.
