I am running this scenario and the RSLS always triggers an abort. I don´t know why.

Well, I would say GLS is the best person to ask for verifying the scenario configuration, I would need to read a while about the work he did with the SSME simulation, it is really complex. :hailprobe:

I can only do some general analysis there on missing variable initializations right now.

For the future, it might be a good reason to have the Orbiter Instrumentation available for getting all this data recorded.

Otherwise the propellant resources are created empty by Orbiter.

I can't tell now what propellant resources #9 and #10 are (I could look into the sources via SVN, if you can wait a few hours for the next break at my work), but I remembered that such a bug caused RSLS aborts in my scenarios once as well.


EDIT: #9 and #10 are the aft RCS propellant tanks. Not related to the SSME controller.

There's no propellant in the ET.... the engines start with the MPS manifold prop in the aft compartment. When that ends they shutdown (yes, I know they shouldn't even start but there are still many redline checks missing :S).
The ET propellant is declared in the ET vessel, so the PRPLEVEL line is needed there. If that doesn't fix it, please complain and I'll run the scenario and do a proper debugging.
I know it might be a PITA to read, but the manual has a list of parameters for each vessel (except for the orbiter itself which scared me with all its subsystems) for use in the scenario files. ;)

What Do you think, could we maybe include some basic LCC/MCC simulation soon to have an scenario file independent check of vital parameters during simulation?

EDIT: And if I could give you a PCMMU and a tape recorder, could you then let it record the engine controller tlm at least on a binary tape file?

(For clarification: I already have a tape drive implementation for the MMU, that uses memory mapped IO for quickly working with large binary data. It would be no problem to take the solution and adapt it.)

Problems like this happen due to human error, and I'm not blaming the human here. It's just that there are so many systems and parameters and configurations, that it is humanly impossible to know it all. That's why I'd like to have a system that can create/edit scenarios (and if the stars align could also upgrade them when it's needed).

About the SSME telemetry, AFAIK it was recorded as it came out of the EIU and (maybe) a subset in the GPCs.
There's an option in the mission files enable the EIU recording, the format could be more compact, but I chose a csv-like system to then create charts easily in excel.... anyway, I then created a VB6 program to interpret the data, it isn't anything special but it shows the data converted to "usable" info for debugging. I can make that available if it's needed, but maybe creating an upgraded version as part of the "SSU<insert name of external SSU program to do things>" is a better idea.
Although I see a very big need for a LCC and MCC, I think there're more pressing matters on the table (DPS, OMS/RCS, upper stages, vc panels and controls update...).
Anyway, I currently don't have enough time for SSU :(, maybe in April/May I can get back "full time" to finally finish the KU antenna and the radar.

Anyway, I currently don't have enough time for SSU :(, maybe in April/May I can get back "full time" to finally finish the KU antenna and the radar.

Don't worry there. I also currently mostly plan my work there and research technical data... I have some exams next week and will then take a day or two for making a quick invisible New Shepard module for testing before returning to SSU.

Last action I had there was a way to translate COMPOOL structures from HAL/S into C++ and listings with GPC memory symbols that can be used for making display formats.

Also I need to do some Lua script to extract the northern Atlantic coast line from Orbiters map display vector data and get it into the IDP for rendering.

Maybe I will hack some early LCC into SSU along the way for just easing the pain there.

And Strange thing on OMS-2.

With a DVx of 296.26 fps to circularise the orbit, I have a burn solution of only 26 seconds, and efectively the burn is too short.

I think the DV is calculated properly because the GPC predicts a good target orbit.

I noticed there are some old parameters in this mission file: EnableWingPainting, ODSZPos and UseOMS can be deleted as they do nothing, and OMSAssistStart and OMSAssistEnd were replaced by similar parameters to the ones used by the real shuttle (OMSAssistEnable and OMSAssistDuration). The OMS assist start time is always MM103+10s.
There is list with all of the available parameters in the manual.

Together, with a WT about 10 times lower than it should be, it is natural why you have about ten times less burn time. Also with wrong trim data, the OMS burn will also be calculated with the wrong trim in the solution.

And Strange thing on OMS-2.

With a DVx of 296.26 fps to circularise the orbit, I have a burn solution of only 26 seconds, and efectively the burn is too short.

I think the DV is calculated properly because the GPC predicts a good target orbit.

The problem is the mass that the GPCs think the vehicle has.... I've seen this somewhere but I can't remember where. Was this scenario saved/loaded in MM102, 103 or 104? If so, then it could be (another) problem stemming from the MPS state save issues...

I was doing the burn as in previous SSU versions (1.25 and 2.0). It´s cool that it has been improved so much.

WT is the Orbiter weight? Where to get it (Control+I and convert units)? And how to get the correct trims?

The scenario was saved on 105.

Working converting the vessel mass to pounds and entering it in ITM 9.

Waiting for response on the question about the Trims: on the STS-135 ascent checklist, on page 87 shows that trims should be P+0.4 LY -5.7 RY +5.7, so I think my trims are more-less correct.

No, this is not the case. Only the weight is calculated upon entering MM104/105/202. Trim data along with the rest of the burn data has to be entered manually which creates a significant challenge for the OMS-1 burn (TIG of 000/00:10:30).
