You'd be hard pressed to find anyone willing to fight a war these days in Bosnia
I'm not quite so sure. Yes, there's precious few who will fight for anything idealistic. I do think however you will find enough that will just fight out of spite, frustration, anger or hatred. It's not going to be a war as big as the last one, of course. WIthout the JNAs heavy artillery there won't be that much fireworks at the party, and Serbia propper is certainly not going to put its foot into that mess (though some serbian "freelancers" quite probably will, as will some random Jihadis...).

A ferry boat Euroferry Olympia from Grimaldi Lines (ITA) sailing the Ionian sea was on fire tonight around 4:30 and had to be evacuated. All the 237 passengers and 51 crew members successfully boarded the lifeboats, no casualties reported.

It sure looks quite bad, fire at sea is always a very serious problem !

What happened, some bad cargo on a truck? Luckily all made it into the lifeboats, I hope they are already ashore.

I hate internet outages. Damn router 'box' is probably malfunctioning at work (it's 9 years old :D). IP conflict, but I'm not sure what causes it Since there's a 'pro assistance' contract at work, a ' depanneur' was supposed to arrive this morning. Got instead a call from him to 'walk me through' (wtf). Had to physically check the whole network again, just to make sure all is well. 30 minutes into the call, he keeps telling me that he 'sees' I have internet, then surprise, turns out he was seeing some other unkown router:D. Sotomorrow morning it's off to the ISP, router in hand and all ( they require that you use their own). Next stop , complaint or suing, not sure. It's unacceptable.

In other news, here's a BlackHawk doing a pickup on the Polish-Ukrainian border . i know, I know, RT, but seems like they're the only ones with the vid on youtube

Well, the polish special forces use Blackhawks, so it must not be a US helicopter.

Orange, Free or SFR ? In any case, good luck, yeah sometimes it takes a lot of patience to get the Mighty Repairman ? ...

It was an US Army MEDEVAC actually (HH-60M), and it could even be tracked online:

Official word is one of the Marines assigned to US embassy in Kyiv (already moved to Lviv at that point) had a medical emergency and had to be transported urgently to Poland but they didn't want to enter Ukrainian airspace due to an unspecified reason so they picked em up right at the border crossing instead.

Lucky you. Here it's almost impossible to get the ISP to let you use your own router, and firmware bugs abound in the CPE routers that they force you to use (and charge you a monthly rental fee for). Of course, you can always set up your own router behind theirs, which at least keeps your LAN sane.

So, sadly, it seems that there are people missing, probably 11, maybe more as there were probably clandestine passengers. ? It really looks bad, the fire was completely out of control.

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bid'st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
O hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea.

German citizens are urgently ordered to leave Ukraine now.

Looks like the last optimists in the German department of state are giving up hope, that Russia could refrain from an attack.

We all need a bit of Scholz in our lives; that one person that is seemingly nowhere to be found and then pops out in the middle of a category 5 sh*tstorm to tell us that there's yet hope to be found.

Meanwhile an E-8C shows up for the first time above Kyiv (at least on public trackers):

This is a battle management and ground vehicle surveillance platform; its presence pretty much means that US expects sh*t to hit the fan at any moment now.

Especially, it is a side scanning radar, that it employs. Now pay attention at the ground track. It only could observe the region from Belgorod westwards, the Donbas would be outside the +/- 60° cone possible for a SAR radar.

Tomorrow the olympics end... Let's hope we don't get any fireworks.

The foreign minister of China just said in Munich, that territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries has to be respected, and Ukraine is no exception. I would say, this statement alone cooled things down a lot - Russia can't rely on China backing any military action up. Considering the "One china" politics of China, this of course raises some more questions, I NEVER really expected China to say things that clear.

Looks like a war in Ukraine is considered bad for the Chinese business and the proposed law of the Russian Duma to annex the Luhansk and Donezk oblasts had been a major concern there.
