I saw that earlier today.
Info for those who don't know: In previous Ace Combat games, the setting was a fictional world known as "(the)
Strangereal (world)" (like the real world, only stranger). A key part of the backstories for several Ace Combat games that took place in Strangereal was the Ulysses 1994XF04 asteroid, which impacted the planet in 1999 and directly/indirectly caused some of the wars in which the AC games take place.
However, Ace Combat Infinity takes place on our Earth, with an alternate timeline. Here, Ulysses is designated as 1986VG1, for it is named after [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5254_Ulysses"]an actual asteroid[/ame] (a Jupiter Trojan). In the trailer (0:37), it seems to pass within the roche limit of a fictional moon of Jupiter named Polyphemus in 1994, causing it to split into many smaller asteroids headed towards Earth. Although the real Ulysses was nowhere near Jupiter during that year.

Those turrets that were designed as an anti-asteroid weapon are known as the "Stonehenge Turret Network".
Here is its story.
But in Infinity, it is now located in Turkey for some reason (1:19).
