When I first learned to output to files in java, I accidentally generated a file a few GB in size. Opening a text file larger than your RAM is a BAD idea. (in fact, even a few MB takes a lot of freezing for Notepad o.O)

How did you generate a GB size file by accident? I'm assuming text?

Well, it does have a marked lack of anything to play with.
It's a nice programmer's toy, but it would take years of effort i'm unlikely to waste to make it into a playable and interesting game i've fancied it to become.
It's not that bad. It could use click-targeting on stars and maybe some sort of interesting planet finder, but unless what you want to add is alien beasts to eat unsuspecting travellers (which would be awesome) it's not terribly uninteresting beyond the, uh, frugal ship visuals.

frugal ship visuals.
Visuals are improving - there is a newer version somewhere on that forum, with nicer rover.
Hopefully, i'll get Hius in by the next version.

As for the rest, like cities and wild beasts - that takes effort, and effort is spent sporadically.

Yes, text. Infinite loop that prints to a file. :P

Had the same lately... a user entered data for repeating an action from 0 to 0, with step size 0 by accident.

Random turning again.

It's a miracle what some shielding around an amplifier can do, that's what it looked like before, bathed in stepper motor noise:

Back in the day, Notepad would refuse to open anything beyond 64k.

Notepad++ can actually open files larger than my RAM, if I remember correctly, it did not explode when opening the router logs.

Time for science!

NIR/Visible composite of a room.
Illustrates different kinds of household lights:
-Incandescent light bulbs give lots of IR and appear red
-Luminescent lights give mostly human-visible light, and appear cyan.

If all goes according to plan, i should get InAs sensors today, making this thing the world's first homemade MWIR camera.

We have all been there. Then you realize that your CV should be as warped from reality as possible with out actually telling a lie.

And don't forget: Sell yourself and limit yourself to the past 10 years. Unless you have really not done anything at all in your past...

Even if you have just worked part time as student in something vaguely relevant, mention it - it is experience that counts, even if you have not spend the full 10000 hours to become expert. If you have worked 2000 hours in a project that gave you specialist knowledge, it is better for you to mention it, because it makes you better than somebody without such knowledge.

Well I'm applying for coop, and I just realized I don't actually do that much. Also this will be my first job so I have no experience there.

Wrong attitude. If you have never worked at all, highlight everything else helpful that you can present and prove.

Have you been at the boyscouts? Never a bad thing to mention, since it relates to social skills. Did you do sports in a club or only at school and only as much as needed? Can present you as somebody with ambition. Can your orbiter experience be useful? Never say never, even if it is just a minor factor, it gives you a great opportunity to show off in a job interview, when asked about it.

PS: What the hell is coop? I only know Co-Op which was a former German supermarket chain. xD

It's a requirement at my college for engineering degrees.

It still exists here.

It could also mean a cooperation program in high school, where students take some instructional time to go to a workplace (hospital, elementary school, carpentry shop, etc.) for first-hand learning.

It's either cooperative education or a supermarket chain called The Co-Operative (short version: Co-Op), which we get over here aswell.
