Well, they've clearly been in the American school system for the past twenty

That was an awesome game. One of the most somber games I've played.

theres nothing like the sense of hopelessness when 5 AI opponents are all launching missiles. and the sense of disconnection when millions die in a brief flash of white pixels.

OK, animations on the Delta Clipper are done, RCS is defined, it can reach orbit without problems and with enough fuel left for a landing. Next week is for aerodynamics and some plug nozzle eye candy.

Playing Empire Earth II in single player.
I was wondering why it was running a bit slow. Then I discover an inlet with a couple dozen ships from two CPU players, I guess stuck in confusion. So I surround the area with my own forces so that when the treaties are forced to break (just us 3 left), they are annihilated.
Later on, it starts running a bit slow again. The map is on "gigantic" (biggest possible), the max world population is 2000 (also biggest). I'm on one continent and the only CPU left is on the other continent. I finally sent over a fleet of paratroopers... and find HERCs (the robot army forces) occupying literally every inch of the region I'm invading. The couple hundred paratroopers are all dead before they hit the ground.
The war is still going on. It's been about 3 hours, both of us have significant defenses for our continents, and I have unbelievable large amounts of all resources and some large excess of citizens that I can never find. (I also had good forture of finding 3 oil deposits right next to each other early on)
