Does anyone want a reason to slap me?

Last week I wanted to use my notebook which I left on a hour ago. I was shocked to see that the screen is black. I tried to restart it, but the battery LED was flashing, indicating that it's empty, and the LEDs indicating that the power supply is connected were off. My first thought was that the supply is damaged and the battery is empty, so I went to the store where I bought it. They tested it with another supply, still the same, probably because of a damaged power jack. I just hope that this is the reason, looks like the repair is much cheaper than replacing the whole notebook.

Now the reason to slap me: I never backed up the files on the notebook (). There's nothing important on it, but It will be a hard work to rebuild all the Orbiter installations if they have to replace the HD...

There's antimony, arsenic, aluminum, selenium,
And hydrogen and oxygen and nitrogen and rhenium,
And nickel, neodymium, neptunium, germanium,
And iron, americium, ruthenium, uranium,
Europium, zirconium, lutetium, vanadium,
And lanthanum and osmium and astatine and radium,
And gold and protactinium and indium and gallium, (gasp)
And iodine and thorium and thulium and thallium.

There's yttrium, ytterbium, actinium, rubidium,
And boron, gadolinium, niobium, iridium,
And strontium and silicon and silver and samarium,
And bismuth, bromine, lithium, beryllium, and barium.

There's holmium and helium and hafnium and erbium,
And phosphorus and francium and fluorine and terbium,
And manganese and mercury, molybdenum, magnesium,
Dysprosium and scandium and cerium and cesium.
And lead, praseodymium and platinum, plutonium,
Palladium, promethium, potassium, polonium,
And tantalum, technetium, titanium, tellurium, (gasp)
And cadmium and calcium and chromium and curium.

There's sulfur, californium and fermium, berkelium,
And also mendelevium, einsteinium, nobelium,
And argon, krypton, neon, radon, xenon, zinc and rhodium,
And chlorine, carbon, cobalt, copper, tungsten, tin and sodium.

These are the only ones of which the news has come to Hahvard,
And there may be many others but they haven't been discahvered.

If power is the only problem, your data will be unharmed. It's most probably not the battery, since a laptop without battery still works when plugged in, so you won't have to buy a new battery either (they're horribly expensive, and are usually not worth replacing if the machine's older than a few years), so don't sweat it. It'll probably be fine.

There should be a short time of idling after that...

You should keep model on dry...

The surface was dry.I just put it there for a photoshoot. It is prominently displayed in my living room:hailprobe:.We should have a hail shuttle smile.

I've just discovered an optical illusion (that i never seen before).

Move the cursor over the image (view full - should be big to notice), slowly up and down, and keep your eyes focused on the cursor.
The image should appear to darken or brighten.

The optimal speed should be two centimeters per second if one stripe is two centimeters wide.

Was something like that described before, and if yes how is it called?

Temperatures are over 34°C / 93°F here... Turning on the computer add a few degrees, using 3D applications add a few others... Boiling water for food add even more.

Same here :tumbleweed:

Every time I do a search here on O-F, the same crap shows up. Everything is unrelated to the searched subject!!

I would like to have a major heat wave, it's been all cold, boring, cloudy and certainly doesn't feel like summer.

It might be 90 on the 3rd, that isn't good because it's the last model rocket launch we'll be able to go to.
I don't like being in the middle of a field rationing water when it's running down our bodies and making us smelly :(
