HOPE-Styled stack at L1, facilitated principally though Wishbone's excellent NTR wip!



Experiments using Kulch's space tanker and TKS derivatives from Thorton's addon's to make reusable cryogenic L1 crew ferry/cargo tug.



Venus or bust! Turned out to be bust as this time around I screwed up the escape burn.

BTW I just pretty much do the same thing astronauts do,sleep ,then eat breakfast,put the DG in the right orientation when it needs it ,eat lunch,test out some equipment on board,eat dinner,go to bed,and repeat.

Somehow I had a feeling you'd notice that :lol:. Happily orbiting, looked down, thought "on-spot for the historical seaside docking of ASTP" (at least according to an old doc in youtube :lol: )

Getting there...
The bulk of the work on the Energia-M is complete. Perhaps a few mesh tweaks.
Working on the guidance file now. "Baby" Energia should be able to lift 30 tons to LEO. We shall see...

BTW, SRC Polygon (by Kultch) and module Neesys (by Siriusfett)
 
XR2 headed to Wideawake, just after reentry.

Despite the simplicity of just a tug, this is somehow a very nice composition and "ready-to-work" sort of sense is conveyed.

It is pics like these, with minimal or no photoshopping that look the best. Sometimes one can spend an hour gussy-ing up a pic and it sometimes it looks ok, oftentimes not. Many over-uses include excessive lens-flaring. Blowing out the whites and blurring parts of the image. Or adding a completely fake color cast (particularly white and tan/brown). This just induces headaches.

All these photoshop effects most definitely do not render a scene more realistic, And certainly *NOT* how I would see them in real life (or in the game, if you call orbiter a game)..

The space-ops pics are well composed. Especially the tail-end of the xr2, it imparts a sense of motion like when aircraft are taxiing at the airport. Same speed and purpose.
