Orbiter Screenshot Thread

Atlantis just before night launch. Behind you can see LC 39B with Discovery.

Tuesday, of course!

I love the SpaceX addon published by Glider on http://orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=17160&highlight=glider+spacex
It was about time to publish some screenshots to show off the amazing visual detail he has put into this addon. Enjoy!

The 9 engines of the Falcons first stage blast the rocket off the launch pad.

The autopilot turns the rocket to gain horizontal speed.

The Dragon capsule over Chicago.
The science compartment door is open.

Orbit inclination change maneuver over the eastern Mediteranean Sea.
For best efficiency the backwards thrusters are used,
as their vector is parallel to the ships axis.

Just before sunrise over the southern Indian ocean.
The Dragon capsule is approaching ISS docking port No. 3.

After leaving the ISS and after the retro-burn completed,
the trunk is jettisoned. The capsule is now on battery power
on its way to the reentry.

With a white-hot glowing heat shield the Dragon capsule
is slowed down by the atmosphere. Stars from the new
background texture shine through the plasma clouds.

This is the main reason (although there are others) I've been waiting for multiple light source capability - working launch pad lights. Awesome.

SSM2007 has it, I've been long waiting for when Orbiter would. Looks like we're going to get it.

Here is the Kvant2 module, just after docking. This is Thorton's MIR station and 4th Rock's upgrades textures.

A great set of missions BTW!

Coming soon... (with some help :P)

In this caption: An American MD-11 "SilverHawks" Logojet (fictional). In the foreground, A LACSA Airbus A320 and a LACSA Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (Retrojet). A Thai Airways International (is someone in this forum from Thailand? :P) is seen running for taking off :P
