Orbiter Screenshot Thread

And how on earth are you going to point this contraption anywhere you want, let alone at 5 fps?
Admittedly, it takes around a week in-sim to point it where I want by using translation thrusters and the Rcontrol module to use two ships at once, but once it's there, it won't budge. I made sure everything was centered, so I have no COG problems with it. Actually, for the initial braking manoeuvre (slowing down from 2Mm/s...I figured slowing down from the high fraction of C the vessel would travel at for the majority of the journey was an unreasonable request which Orbiter would have difficulty handling...it's also really boring ) the vessel is already aligned. One Longshot's engines to speed up, the other vessel's engines to slow down.

So far I've managed to enter a 0-eccentricity orbit around Ups And d, and everything's working well, if a little slow.

Laugh, groan or grin, I don't care. This new feature is freaking sweet:

This pic gave me goosebumps. I can hear the music from ST:TMP in my head. Must...download...beta...

**EDIT** Denied! My work laptop's onboard Intel graphics don't support Hardware T&L! Guess
I'll have to try it at home :(

**RE-EDIT** Figured out, Hardware T&L not necessary. What is necessary is to check Local light sources in the Visual Effects tab

Some of the most fun I've had in Orbiter is launching an XR2 and not paying close enough attention to the temps, and then trying to make a RTLS abort on one and a half wings and one elevon...:P

Unless something really impressive. But I would be practicing landings in AMSO, manual, because I want to do in the crater Tycho. The case being that in my first successful landing (after several abortions for speeding) just stay with 8.16 kg of fuel.

messing around with Kev33's Seaking and UMMU's. I added a docking port inside the helo to simulate carrying passengers for parachute practice. Lots of fun.

So, first up - high altitude parachute training with a drop from 15,000ft:

Next up, the helo coming to collect them after a successful landing:

I wish I had at least 20 fps with this settings :( To play actually with, but not looking on static picture.

I believe you can find it here :P

It's a funny story to a generic picture (well, generic for Orbiter forum :P,) actually. I had never launched Atlantis myself before, just because when I started off in Orbiter, I couldn't, and later on because I just didn't bother. So, the other day when I loaded up Launch into Sunrise to look around for a hidden MFD in Atlantis' cockpit, I though 'what the heck, let's shoot into the air.'
Ten minutes or so later I was to my surprise here, in a perfect 201x201 orbit. I guess I'm getting better at Orbiter after all, without even noticing any progress.

EDIT: Took advantage of the 'Blog this Post' button, because this methinks is blogworthy. That must be the most unused feature on this forum (aside from the Search feature, of course!)
