Orbiter Screenshot Thread

I was thinking of the "Gator Freighter" Wasp (LHD-1), she's 257 meters with a 32 meter beam, which makes her at the limit Panama Canal transit (NeoPanamax limits are different, but this is as large as I can see making). Fun fact. One of my past Officers-in-charge when I was in HSL-44 was once the skipper of Wasp (he's a 2 star admiral now  )

The America class is a little more desirable I think (maybe, I keep changing my mind). Main difference is there is no Well Deck. It's a cleaner look.

But I'm thinking the JDF Hyuga is more economical. And far less manpower intensive.

Experimenting with a LOD-based label layer. Found a database with 11 million labels for Earth. Here you see a sample scene picked entirely randomly ...

(No it's not - going skiing there tomorrow _grin_ :hotcool:)

You know that we already have google earth, right?

:jawdrops: The 3rd and 4th shots look like X-Plane with photo scenery and the RealTerraHaze addon. Amazing!

Today I began working on a new Orbiter movie! Here's a shot from post-edit after some color correction work. The original footage is on the left. This particular scene (including many others after it) feature the wonderful Space Shuttle Ultra addon.

Ah, I can see a human in the Sun. A silhouette.

Silhouette_SEL2.jpg

(They are Moon and Earth actually. I am at Sun-Earth L2 Lagrange point.)

This screenshot also displays ADSWNJ's new Lagrange MFD Autohold screen. The Autohold autopilot will fire RCS thrusters to keep the vessel near the Lagrange point where the vessel is currently located.

@boogabooga post #7019:

Look carefully, boogabooga, one of the "Sun" is actually DG firing its thruster for station keeping at Sun-Earth L2 point.

Making more progress on my next cinematic Orbiter movie. I've finished most of the script and recorded many scenes. Sort of bouncing around different tasks at the moment, including post color correction and special effects. Here's a screen shot of the timeline so far. Release date not yet known, but stay tuned!

Why are there 2 suns?

Nice. Did you abandon Sony Vegas entirely or using Adobe AE only for composition / color correction?

Thanks mate! Definitely done with Sony Vegas. I'm now a huge fan of Adobe. I used After Effects for animations and effects, but most color grading and all editing is done in Premiere Pro.

Everything is better in Premiere though! The integration with other Adobe products, the VST integration for the sound, the color correction (so fast to get good result and the previews are so fluid!), finalrender times, etc...

I'm working with real footage for the moment, but I've been contemplating at doing a tribute / teaser-like video for Orbiter 2016 for a while now.

BTW, not *technically an Orbiter screenshot, but here is a shot of the timeline again with the movie title. So it is now officially the title of my upcoming film.

Definitely agree on all accounts. Looking forward to an Orbiter tribute if you make one.

I couldn't find any good dry dock addons, so I'm creating the scene I need in After Effects.

EDIT: Also, gotta love key framing. Tedious work! Creating engine flames from scratch was a pain, so I'm key framing in real footage from a shuttle launch.
