well, the Hawker-Harrier is a cool vertical-launcher, too

Ooo! The Guppy! That's what I've been missing since I stopped with 2006p1. I have got to get that again! Wish there were some UMMU compatible aircraft out there.

The Sea King is pretty nice too.:)

A look back

As spaceflight enthusiasts and science buffs it is our mission to go forwards, but once in a while it is nice to take a look back and see where we have been. It gives us the other end of the ruler from which to measure and set new goals. It helps keep things in perspective.

Those are from some of the oldest versions of orbiter.. Where can I get more of the very first versions? Not the ones currently posted at Orbithangar.com , but ones like from this page -- http://replay.waybackmachine.org/20000511090310/http://www.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/~martins/orbit/orbit.html

And check out these system requirements -- http://replay.waybackmachine.org/20010217190634/http://www.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/~martins/orbit/download.html

My earliest known copy is like 010503, but I may have more, and I know the first official beta release was 271100. I'm just daunted by the task of searching though 900+ cd-roms of poorly documented backups from that era.

An EVEN older version. This is from timestamp 010313, March of 2001. This was from before we had a launchpad from which to select scenarios and enable/disable modules!

Looks pretty much the same.

Just kidding! So much progress since those days! :)

Cortez Flight Deck

A group of XR2 Ravenstars landed (docked) on the flight deck of the EAS Cortez.

*Note* Additional docking positions will be available in an upcoming release of the beta.

Anybody recognize this iteration of the DG ??

Anybody recognize this iteration of the DG ??
I found this on one of the 900+ cd's of my old data backups while looking for the first version of orbiter. But this doesn't seem to be a screenshot from any known version or anything.. ?? Ideas??

It looks like a version of the DG for a "normal" simulator, maybe MSFS or X-Plane? The clouds look rather different in anyone of these, usually, but since I've never really used X-Plane I can't say for sure...

I find that SH-3 very easy to fly and versatile. It's a fast favourite over at ISA sites.

Oh... CRAP!!
"Miscalculation" noticed during a replay...

Congratulations, you just fried the ISS. You may demand trail by court-martial if such be your choice. How say you?

Remember: A reaction drive's effectiveness as a drive is directly proportional to it's effectivness as a weapon.
