Ku antenna is now deployed!

KU band antenna have been deployed. It will now undergo a selftest to verify its health before it's put into work.

KU failed its selftest, however MCC believes it's healthy and recommends to proceed through the KU activation checklist.

KU activation is completed.

Shift handover is complete in the Shuttle FCR. The ascent team has handed over to the Orbit 2 team.

NC-1 burn completed by the numbers. GROUP B PWR DN in work.

I just got home from work and hadn't heard anything about the launch. Big thanks to DaveS (and his nimble fingers) for the minute by minute description.

Anyone else seen the Flightday 1 highlights, especially the O2 venting from the ET, recorded after ET sep? That looks spectacular! I don't think we've seen this ever before?

It's LH2. It's being vented overboard through the LH2 vent on the intertank.
