General Question Jupiters occultations

After all these years on Orbiter I just noticed that Jupiter doesn't cast a shadow on it's moons during occultation. Why is that? I haven't tested it but I presume it is the same for the other gas giants?

No, planets do not cast shadows (no eclipses, occultations, etc.) for the simple reason that the feature is not implemented. It would be a nice thing to have in future Orbiter versions, though, but not something urgently needed (it is primarily a spaceflight simulator after all, not a visualisation tool, though it does look very nice in other respects.)
