IMFD - Version 5.1f

I've just downloaded the latest version, but haven't installed it yet.

Though I'm not anticipating this (fingers crossed), if I/we encounter bugs, is this the spot we should report them?

Looking forward to giving the latest incarnation of one of my favorite MFD's a try!

IMFD 5.x bug reports

For now, Any IMFD related bug reports can be posted here. In a future when the next major release of IMFD is published I'll try to get an IMFD specific sub-forum from this forum or Meadville Spece Center.

I am most often reading the threads from this forum and Dan's forum

Hey Jarmonik,

Any chance that a rendezvous function could be included with a future version of IMFD (possibly within the "Orbital" sub-program)? There's a similar function in the STS/Soyuz Guidance MFD...

Cheers,

Cale

Wow!

I still getting over ver 5.1e.

Thanks Jarmonik!

I just double checked that IMFD 5.1g is uploaded. So, this could be webbroser cache or proxy problem.

I think NukeET meant that he was still in awe about 5.1e. Actually, I just got around to upgrading to 5.1e myself the other day when I decided to add IMFD to my development testing installation.

Now I find a thread that announces 5.1f, click on the link... find 5.1g...

So when's 5.1h coming out? :P

Good call Ursus! :speakcool: How long have you been reading minds?:P

I just starting using 5.1e when AMSO 1.17 was released.

No worries, Jarmonik. I'd still be in LEO without IMFD. A "must have" add-on.

Hi all,

I'm struggling with the documentation (and a brain fried from one too many bad English 101 papers), and am doing something I usually don't.

I'm asking for advice when I'm nearly positive it's in the provided documentation.

I'm using Planet Approach, and going from the Earth to Moon. I've adjusted my Earth orbit so that it's aligned with the Moon's and that's all good. What a sweet program!

Here's my question: how do I arrive at the Moon so that I come in over the North Pole instead of the equator? It's got to be the Max EqI setting, right? Set to 90 degrees? I've tried this a couple of times, but my approach has been so far off that I've exited Orbiter and set about trying it again.

This adjustment/maneuver should be done as early as possible to minimalize fuel consumption, correct?

Yes but that would be EqI setting. Max EqI and Min EqI are only displaying the limits where EqI can be adjusted.

Somewhere close to the edge of the SOI and s second burn more closer to the planet or moon. Too far is not good because the program (like any program using conic-approximation) becomes unaccurate. These problems should become history in IMFD6

IMFD 6 - now there's something else to look forward to.

I'm really enjoying 5.g! Especially the graphic interface which allows me to stay manual as much as possible instead of using AB.

Thanks, jarmonik, for your response. I thought I was on the right track, and now I'm thinking that I attempted my burns too early. Now I've gotten the right advice, I'll give it another try.

I've been using the new IMFD in my testbed scenarios. It works very well along with the WarpDrive 2.0 MFD.
Set a course for the outter planet of your choice, wait for proper alignment, set Auto-burn, and once it kicks in, switch one display to the WarpDrive MFD, set your warp factor, and engage.

No problems with it yet. Loads of fun for Treck senarios.
