Gaming Digital Combat Simulator Thread

Can't join you this weekend again, Sunday is deadline for a university essay.

I experienced a server crash and I'm unable to rehost the session.
I'm going to look into it tomorrow. Sorry guys!

Nice, the SEAD run I trained in singleplayer works... But theres a lot of other dangerous stuff down there.

Learning the A-10. Can start and takeoff. Can target for bombing but having some issues. (HUD doesn't change, weapon won't drop)
I'm really good at getting hit by SAMs though.

This will not end well.

Which mode do you use for bombing and which bomb do you want to drop?

I think the training mission has sorted out my issues. Have to test my training sometime tomorrow...
Specifically, I was trying to do guided bombs. GBU-12 initially I think.

Ah, you have to remember lasing or activating the auto-lase function with them! (And of course to activate the laser itself, I can't remember how many bombs I had miss due to a turned-off laser)

OK, but did you use CCRP or CCIP/CR?

If CCRP (which I prefer to use for LGBs), it is pretty simple. You only need a SPI, fly to the azimuth line and keep the bomb release button pressed from 6 seconds in the countdown to bomb release - just make sure the piper touches the dropping ball on the azimuth line when the countdown reaches 0 (which means: Yes, you can turn until shortly before release). When the countdown to impact reaches 8 seconds, activate the laser (or use auto-laser)

OK...essay done... what about doing some A-10C training today... Goal:

Taking out an artillery battery in low level flight with Mk-82 AIR while in range of a SAM.

CCRP

What's the trouble you are having spoofing SAMs? Spotting them? Evasion profiles? IR or Radar?

Flying directly towards them at low altitude without countermeasures. Getting hit and continuing to do the same thing. :) (I'm real good at getting hit by SAMs)

You'll want to train in spotting the radars belonging to a sam battery in order to take them out first with a Maverick. It's the only reasonably safe way, since the A-10 lacks an anti-radiation missile.

Turn left or right until your wingtip points at the SAM site and activate countermeasures program as recommended by semi-auto mode while already turning. if your opponent is radar guided and the missile has already been launched, activate ECM for some seconds (don't leave it on forever - there is a technology called home on jam)

Just only destroyed 2 Msta from 6 until going back because of the many small damages I got by the MGs. Had 12 Mk-82 AIR, with salvo of 4, but somehow, it only used one launcher and fired them single. Wondered why I never got any radar contact by the SAM site. Answer: the tiny F in the RWR display. Panic.

Some impressions of recent sessions:

Su-25T approach fail:

Huey action:

NOT GOOD ...

TF-51 + F-15 (Fabri and me)

Then, first successful deadstick emergency landing with the Hog. :D

So, the mission then saw some more work. Balanced certain spots, and added a lot of assets than can by triggered with sling load missions.

Some example assets:

And finally, for all orbinauts, who search for a new destination. :-D

So, anyone up for a session next saturday?
Urwumpe, like to try your tactics at these enemies? ;)

Not yet anyway , but I will be on a birthday party next Saturday.

This looks like you need to be really lucky to get a Mav into range.

Nice pictures, but...what the hell is that? It looks like a V-1 meets Tomahawk hybrid!

Russian air-launched cruise missile Kh-55...
