Seems a bit harsh?

Not if you consider recent statements of Die Linke (basically the old communist party of DDR), although that was only in regards of the "rich" people.

Actually not the whole party - just one minor member of it. I am more for a more civilized solution there, though I admit it requires more care regarding infectious diseases:

Well, Police here don't have a "shoot on cough" policy yet.
I think I'll get some cough medicine.

Supermarket trade body say they have had no contact with government and are
confused by Health Secretary statement. Political row coming.

They do say they have put into practice the procedures if we left the EU without a deal, so we've managed to get Brexit into Corona.

OK, so you are doomed, if they combine protection against the epidemic with another decisions to be done for the Brexit...

And it was clearly a sarcastic statement IMHO, but anyway... HYSTERIA!!!

Corona will run its course, not sure about Brexit.

Bethlehem has some sort of isolation in place, and a cruise ship off San Francisco has been refused entry to port.

Of course. But I would not only get far into basement territory, would I comment this kind of comedy in German politics further, I would likely also use a really colorful language.

(Short summary for US citizens: No, other conservative politicians can also be huge idiots, don't worry.)

2nd death in the UK. Man in his 80's with existing health problems.

COBRA(Cabinet Office Briefing Room A) meeting on Monday. Top of Government and advisors/experts on the current problem.

Talk of cancelling public football matches, so it must be serious.

684 cases in Germany, still no deaths. Most cases still in Heinsberg, almost 1/3rd of the total in this small town.

Or just kicking the old folks out of them apparently - rumours that the premier league may ban the attendance of the over 70s for a period of time.

Alongside wider government rumours that they may ask the elderly to start social distancing.

Supposed to be a plan to stagger the demand on critical care beds but is clearly going to come with its own significant problems if they go for it.

My primary concern at the moment is the mad panic buying that is happening here. Its bloody rife in the SW of England but not sure about the rest of it? Drove past the shops earlier to witness a woman trying to fit approximately 500 loo rolls into her car. No one can get hold of soap, hand gel, or painkillers - and I imagine this is only the beginning of the madness.

Re: Epidemic of coronavirus

I found that coronavirus dies above 30°C. So, wait for the summer, have something garma-garam, etc.

Also, coronavirus spread through the ground, not air.

So why does it survive on humans, known to have a higher body temperature?
Don't believe the interweb!

Any kind of age check(or any check) at entry to a football stadium will end in crowd disturbances or crushing.
They must know that, so that comment is either not thought through or some kind of delaying tactic,

No signs of panic-buying up here in the North East. Plenty time though.

The fear here is, what happens in the autumn, when temperatures drop again.

We have the first German death to COVID-19, but not in Germany. A 60 year old German tourist died in Egypt, he travelled there one week ago.
