Gaming Artlav's Space Engineers Server

Server updated to the latest version.

I also teleported some lost-looking ships to Origin.
Be advised, that an unnamed lost ship will likely get deleted. No need for an antenna, just make sure it's not simply "small ship ****".

I'll be sure to rename my ship in progress once I convert it from a station to a ship. IIRC, last time I merged a ship with a station and then unmerged it and converted back to a ship, it was renamed to some random name. :P

has builder-101 been moved somewhere? I had important amount of resources there :(

It was a 1200 km away, teleported it back to Origin.

Aaaaaaand the server is outdated again. These hotfixes are getting annoying. :(

Aaaand server is updated again.

Big Red is mostly done now. The turrets are active so make sure they're turned off before bringing captured ships in close. Are we going to take her somewhere else? I'll be going back to mining for a while.

800 meters range? I thought they were already active the last time when I brought private sail and business shipment, so one I brought behind the asteroid with keeping ~900 m distance when the big red was in view and in another I hacked all inaccessible parts just after I stopped it.

The pink gatling turret wasn't connected to any ammo container, so it might have been empty. I didn't change any settings on the turrets. I just wanted to warn players before they were chewed up by Big Red's defences.

I turned off the pink turret weeks ago I think. It was shooting captured ships even from far out and even shot at a ship I built. (Somehow my broken parts were designated as enemy)
I thought it might be better to only turn on the turrets when they are definitely needed.

When trying to log on, I get the message "Game does not exist".
There wasn't an update. Is the server down? :(

Bad news.
There was a power outage (once in i don't remember how many years...).
The save file appears to be corrupt, and the last backup is from friday the 6th.

The only corrupt file, apparently, is the metadata file (Sandbox.sbc), the world data itself appears to be intact.
I don't know yet if it can be recovered and how, so the server is down for the moment.

Ideas are welcome.

If we were to roll back to the 6th, how much would be lost?

Nothing would be lost on my asteroid- just less of it would be dug out.

Can you post the .sbc file? Is it completely erased/randomly overwritten?

It's the right size, but full of zeroes.
Disk check found no lost chains (no surprise on NTFS).
I tried to use one from the 6th, but apparently it's a little more than just metadata.

The part that sucks is that the "auto backup" turned out to be "auto save to the same place".

Hmmm, I recovered one of my single player world files before by manually editing the *.sbc file, but that doesn't help if it doesn't exist at all :(

Can you still post a .zip of the whole save directory?

I have no problem going back to 6th. Some work will be lost, but it will be recovered quickly now that I know how to do it.

The most important in the Sandbox.sbc to be recovered would be information about procedural density and seed, and information about factions and players (otherwise the big red will shoot at us when we get close and we'll lose access to our ships and stations, too). Other than that everything else in it could be taken for example even from another world, so it should be more than possible to use at least those parts of file from its Feb. 6 backup.

Ok, it's official.
No recovery is possible.

I just tried to zip up the save for meson, and noticed it was 1/10th of the size of the backup.
Turns out the other files are not intact, but only have a bit of text at the top, followed by zeros.

Backup restored, server is back online.
Nothing changed so far, but i'll be looking for a proper backup solution now.
Sorry.

Just in case,
The dead save: http://orbides.1gb.ru/etc/ofse_bad.zip
The backup: http://orbides.1gb.ru/etc/ofse_150206.zip

No worries on my account. I'm mostly just trying stuff out there.
