Gaming Artlav's Space Engineers Server

Nothing changed so far, but i'll be looking for a proper backup solution now.

I assume SE just keeps the world information in memory, and saves to disk every time it autosaves.

What about a simple program that just monitors the save directory, and when it sees updated files, it just copies them into a backups folder with date/time of the file modification?

Looking at those, it might be technically possible to recombine them, but not worth the effort.

My builder-101 ship seems disappeared. I guess its still lost on this save. Could it be teleported next to Orion Spaceship? not origin?

And this is why I wrote my own backup solution for the Minecraft server. Never trust that which you didn't write yourself!

Server is updated to the new version.

There appears to be a Space Engineers Server Manager on codeplex that does auto updates and auto backups.
A bit out of date maybe but worth trying?

If there are any issues with it, it looks to be open source C#and JavaScript.

What tools are Artlav currently using?

Darn, server outdated again

Yep.

Is there a way to not update your client version before launching? Steam for me always forces an update before launch, and I'd personally rather play on the server then not have the latest version for a couple of hours.

Launch the game before you think the update will be and don't quit it after the update has been rolled (leave it in the main menu if you aren't playing). ;)

Sounds like worth trying. Can't make heads or tails of it at the moment.

As a matter of fact, SE appears to be seriously undertooled , so i'll probably be making many of my own.
If you see a Death Star Peace Moon on the server, then the tests are going well. :)

This is the third time that happens to me. All the welders I have built attached to pistons have dissapeared.

I built some of them, I loged off and then in. They dissapeared, I did it again and they were gone. It seemed fixed the third time when I rebuilt all of them. But now I loged in and all of them, about 200 are all gone as well as their piston part where they were attached.

Any idea what went wrong? how can I check what happened?

There are a lot of NPC ships near Origin.
And i mean A LOT.
Anyone got plans for them, or are they fair game to grind down?

If you mean my collection of Mining Carriages and a few connected Business Shipments with Commercial freighter, then they all will be ground down this weekend. :P

I am getting heavy slowmotion everytime I join the server, the other day I crashed to my own station and my builder got heavy damaged.

It is strange because CPU was at 70% normally, now its always at 100%

Server got restarted for toolset update.

Slowmotion seems to suggest clutter. I removed some far-distant vessels and floating objects.
Is it getting any better?

Not unless it was more than a 1000km away from Origin.

Meanwhile, a solar eclipse is in progress at Origin.
