Gaming Artlav's Space Engineers Server

Is the server down, or just updating?
 
Down, apparently. Can't reach it by either means.
If it's not some sort of internet outage, then it won't be up sooner than tomorrow.
 
So the new space engineers update added mandatory suit oxygen and spaceship oxygen.

If you don't refresh your oxygen, you die.

Because of this, and the fact that none of the server members necessarily have ice or pressurized areas or pressurized ships yet, we should probably have the new oxygen settings disabled for some grace period (two weeks?) so we all don't die when the server comes online again ;)

I wonder would that despawn my already mined ice from ship's inventory. :hmm:
 
As I know from my experiences :facepalm:
Ice shouldn't despawn, oxygen generators and such just simply won't generate with oxygen disabled.
 
Sigh.
After surmounting multiple difficulties, including finding someone willing to get to my place and explaining to a clueless grandma over the phone how to wire a monitor to a PC, the server was brought back up.

Still not sure what exactly have happened, but stupid Windows kept defaulting to "launch windows restoration tool (recommended)" on reboot, instead of "Just start Windows" (which is why the much easier "press the glowing thing until it stops glowing, unpress, count to five, then tap it again" instruction failed to produce results), and the logs just cut off without any clues.

Anyway, server should be up and i disabled the oxygen for now.

If anything is broken, last backup was on March 23rd, crash happened on around March 24th-25th.
 
I replaced arc furnace with oxygen generator on my home ship and I've put a few empty bottles and ice into it, so I'm set for the oxygen switch back on. Just 2 minutes of work to set it up (but I already had some ice mined earlier).
 
So I was heading in a small ship towards an asteroid for prospecting and I'm about 3000 meters out, in the camera view, but I hit "t" one to many times and exit the ship. The ship promptly disappears :shifty:

Both the ship and my person have initial dampeners off, so I head faster toward the asteroid, because maybe I'm just silly and not seeing the ship.

When I arrive at the asteroid, I stop and turn around, but no ship is careening towards the asteroid, and there's no wreckage :uhh:

Huh. Seems that when Squad banished the Kraken, it got ported over to Keen's game! :rofl:
 
If you inadvertently bail out of a fast moving ship get back in ASAP. You will most likely bump the ship because of the jittery server, and send you off in diverging paths. You can loose contact with the ship faster than you think.

PS: I'm good to go regarding oxygen. I's not like there's a great penalty to death in SE. :)
 
I'm good to go. I haven't found any ice (maybe it doesn't spawn on untouched asteroids with oxygen disabled?) but it won't be that hard to find some with it enabled. Maybe a bit of hand mining.

But my ship/station has oxygen generators and stuff, so I'm good to go for oxygen.

I found ice, so I'm fully ready to go :thumbup:
 
And the server is out of date because of the hotpatch :(

Oxygen still off. Should we turn it on?
 
Ok, oxygen should be enabled now.
 
Oxygen seems to be working fine, or at least bottles are being filled from generator and consumed by the character.


There is some problem with missing heads of pistons and what was placed on them (in my case just connectors, but other people who used them for building could place something more). EDIT: it appears to be just on stations, ships should be fine.
 
The server is out of date by a hotpatch.
 
The server has left the game a couple of minutes ago while I was flying with disabled inertial dampeners towards an asteroid. I think my miner ship is lost. :(

I assumed "server out of date" means no one can be on it, and didn't check.
