AMSO AMSO for Orbiter 2016 released

That's amazing! I just spend a LOT of time in AMSO 2010 half a year ago calculating all of that transfers, searching for rock samples and enjoing a great views. And then I migrated to Orbiter 2016 completely, erasing Orbiter 2010, and I thought that I never more will see outstanding views of Apollo, Moon, rover and never will hear again all that great ATC addons for the mission.

And now such a great news! I just load PDI scenario, Saturn V launch, moon rover scenario, and... man, it's looks just incredible with 2016 high graphics settings, all that shadows, terrain and microtextures! It's such a good reason to repeat moon missions with a whole new graphic experience (and not doing calculation and maneuvers' errors this time LOL).

Thank you very much!

This here is a version of the bridge for XRSound 1.1 with no logging at all: http://snoopie.at/face/beta/OrbiterSound.dll

Could you please check if this gets rid of the performance issues?
So this is a new Soundbridge version?

EDIT:
Oh, sorry!
Didn't see this

SoundBridge 1.1.1

I had to create a new entry on OHM for this, because the update feature is unfortunately broken at the moment. The original entry's description now shows a link to that new entry. Once the feature works again, I will delete the new and edit the original entry.

Been having lots of fun with this. I drove the rover until I exhausted all the charge ;) Really immersive having to navigate the terrain.

It works great with PersuitMFD for landing. Here's Tycho:

Yes, I've landed on a slope, but no problem, the autopilot handled it well.

The only nitpick is that the EVA dudes seem to move a bit slow. I love the jumping, it's quite real, but it takes ages to get anywhere!

Q: Is there anyway in AMSO to be able to change where you want to the LM's computer to target a landing?

I think one needs to disable the autopilot, and revert to manual. I also think its explained in the pdf/doc readme that comes with it.

I don't get the same lunar surface as 4th rock, what am I missing. I using orbiter ng
Have you installed microtextures? There are also a couple of configuration changes in the install readme

MERCI! Ob2016 + AMSO = Awesome!

Have a problem with lights: Tried an Apollo 11 prograde CSM LM extraction but the target is in my shadow, activated lights but they don't uliminate! Local light sources are on and I've checked in a seperate .scn that spotlights work. Have I missed any settings?

One way to do it is to edit the base.cfg file and let the AMSO autopilot fly it:

Code:
BASE-V2.0
Name = A12
[COLOR="Red"]Location = -23.4220  -3.0128[/COLOR]
Size = 40
MapObjectsToSphere = TRUE

BEGIN_NAVBEACON
VOR A12  [COLOR="Red"]-23.4220  -3.0128[/COLOR] 112.00 1000
END_NAVBEACON

Editing the NAV beacon isn't mandatory...

True, but I was thinking more along the lines of having fictional Apollo missions land at places like Tycho, Rima Hygnius, Shackleton, et cetera. It seems that you can only land the LEM with AMSO at only certain locations (the actual landing sites + Copernicus and Marius Hills).

True. But notice the example I used. Those numbers aren't the originals. Intrepid now correctly lands on the NW rim of Surveyor Crater, instead of inside the crater.

CSM separation

LOI

PDI

Landed

Who took this photo?

I don't remember where to put all these things, so I just scattered them around.

Leaving Moon

I had to launch a few hours earlier because CSM was too far from landing site.
I wanted to save some fuel for TEI and course correction, so I didn't use CSM alignment burn.

TEI

I guess TEI is the most difficult part of the flight. You can't use LTMFD for this type of TEI, and IMFD base approach is not accurate enough.

Reentry

Splashed down in the Pacific Ocean

These are the problems I found during this mission:

IMFD cannot perform LOI burn correctly. Neither Delta Velocity nor Orbit Insert works.
Target Delta V and burn time are correct, but somehow it cannot achieve target orbit.
LTMFD works fine.

IMFD failed to load GET multiple times.

Touchdown points for CM and helicopter.
I died shortly after splashdown when I hit timewarp... :(

Thank you for making this awesome mod. I really enjoyed it.
I'm glad these EVA guys can still perform epic Moonsault :lol:

Visually 99% are OK, but that LM exhaust actually is a bit not great, could be improved (I do not know how though :))

Christmas Has Come Early

Fantastic! AMSO has long been my favorite Orbiter addon. I was thrilled to see this new release. AMSO was the main reason that I still kept an install of Orbiter 2010 working. Between this new version and the work in progress on the new Shuttle Fleet, I can change over to 2016 completely.

The work that has been done on this project is superb as always.
