I thought it was *French* defeat that was always expected in the script. But considering that I plan on being in charge of both sides before a US-Canada war even starts, neither you nor the French will need to render any aid.

German victories are only temporary until defeated by an alliance of the free world wrestl....countries. You can't do this alone, you have to think about the fans. And the merchandise.

They are hardly taxes. People choose to gamble/play the lottery. You don't have to participate.

VAT, however, is a con. It's on everything considered a luxury in the UK and these days it seems even house heating and certain foods are luxuries....

Curious think is, when i order something from Europe, they don't add VAT to it.
So, export is cheaper than local use?

Exports benefit from zero VAT as an incentive.
In Russia, lots of scam schemes are based on VAT (НДС) reimbursement for exporters.
(Although must say this is quite universal and occurs in the EU too).

Agree with jedidia, riches can allow one to gain from a lot of loopholes.
