Various issues with Linux installs, even Ubuntu:
I used to wonder why a distro would issue a major release with annoying little bugs or quirks still present. I've convinced myself they do it on purpose to "get the party started." I believe Linux is what you make it, not what's handed to you. To the wrong person it's a crappy Desktop OS. To me its fertilizer for the brain. For instance I'm maxing out the RAM on my board this month so I can experiment with Ogla client and wine from a two gig ramdrive mounted to a folder in my home directory.
