Look at everything from an evolutionary perspective. Humans were at the start, tiny finless fishlike creatures, that eventually grew fins, then became amphibian like, then moved onto land as reptile like "synapsids". Then, they increased their metabolism and grew fur, and became shrew like mammals, then lemur like apes, then more advanced apes, great apes, and eventually an odd bipedal hairless form.
(Sorry about that, my evolutionary terminology may be wrong, etc.)
To arrive at a similar outcome, after millions of years of evolution, possibly from a differant base form (for humans, a fish, for them, maybe, a lobster with a head like a lampshade), is extremely unlikely.
The aliens will converge in some ways with humans, for instance, vital organs in a torso, legs, limbs able to manipulate objects, etc.
I wouldn't be surprised it such a creature had two eyes on top of a head with one mouth. After all, why have more? I wouldn't be surprise if they spoke a language, after all, how else would they communicate? I wouldn't be surprised if they made science fiction media with aliens that looked like them with bad facepaint, after all, isn't it the nature of all intelligent species to wonder?
/rant over.
Sorry about this. I could probably write a book.
