Would anyone like...

1) Saitek X52 Profiles for XR-1/2/5, Resolve International and DGIV? Of course different profiles, but each button will perform the same function on the spacecraft. No need for Fly-by-wire or tampering with config settings.

2) Background ambience - realistic radio communications or Space ATIS for Brighton Beach / bases on mars, or even KSC?

If anyone is interested, please respond. Number 1 is almost ready for upload. Number 2 will need a little script writing and some method of reducing the quality of a voice recording so as to sound like VHF/UHF radio communications. I'm working on it.

Thanks for your interest, reply with thoughts, suggestions etc.

James.

Number 1 would be very interesting... once I can buy a X52 :'(
So if you upload it, be sure I'm a future client !

Looks like I'm gonna have to do it and upload it! Watch this space.

I like both of these ideas, i've only got the "Saitek cyborg evo" (I only use it when in the atmosphere) but may give me some pointers on improving my profiles. Brighton Beach my favorite place on the moon so something that adds to the "atmosphere" (pun intended) would be welcome

For getting a more "realistic" radio sound, use a bandpass filter and try settings around 6 khz to 10 khz. Also, if you can modulate with (ie, use white noise to control a light flange effect), or add a little bit of white noise that also helps. Finally, cut the sample down to 8 bit, then back to 16 to give it rougher sound.

Free tools that can help you with this are:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Finally, I think I'll get a X52 next month, so I'm very interested by your profiles, which are exactly for the ships I always fly !

I'm happy ! I got my X52 ! :D

But I'm not satisfied of my DG4 profile... Do you use only SST to configure your joystick, or you combine it with FBW ?

It's coming later today. Doesn't need FBW. Can you put up with flying the XR1/2/5 for now?

Here is a preliminary X52 profile for XR1/2/5, and basic profile for DGIV. Feedback welcome, PM me. DGIV profile needs a little more work. XR series profile ready for beta testing.

Enjoy!

Yeah ! I look at this right now !

EDIT : I can't read the profiles... My software is the last version, with the new format : .pr0 instead of .dat !

Aw s***. Wideawake, we have a problem.

Can you give me a few hours, Ganlhi? Gotta do a few things. Keep your eyes open.

Thanks
J

I don't stop to watch this thread ^^
Sorry about that...

Apologies for the delay...

Hi here it is. .p0 included.

I feel that the DGIV profile and XR1/2/5 need to be co-ordinated so the same buttons activate the same control. However, for now, let's get a feel for what controls go where to begin with.

Enjoy
!

Hum... I think we don't have the same version again. I can't read your pr0 files. If I open yours and mine with a text editor, here is what I see :
